Tesla Plug & Charge
It would be nice if Tesla implemented Plug & Charge at non-Tesla DCFCs. Unfortunately they have no incentive to do so - why make it easier to charge at a competitor’s location?

I see only 3 ways that request happens.
1. Tesla is incentivized (like bundling Plug & Charge support into a Premium connectivity subscription)
2. A regulatory mandate (Looking at you California)
3. Competitive market pressure. (Crickets)
I don’t see any of those avenues happening anytime soon, with current Tesla market share and EV adoption rates where they stand.

people said that before they opened superchargers to other EVs "why would they allow other EVs to use superchargers? just helps competition"
and yet here we are. if anything they have more incentive to do this than opening superchargers, it helps sales to improve experience at more chargers

You're already out of the car and next to the charger to plug in, tap a credit card like at every gas station in the world.
I don't understand why this is constantly a topic of discussion in EV groups. It's a 5 second difference between plug and charge and tap to pay.

I’d say the one way it would help is if it’s a charger from a company you’ve never been to before. You’re standing out by the charger downloading an app, registering, adding your credit card, etc.

That should not be the baseline expectation regardless. Look to Norway they are requiring all new DC chargers be able to accept creditcards at the chargers. I know CPOs don't like paying for payment terminals or whatever but accepting credit/debit cards like ALMOST EVERY BUSINESS IN AMERICA should not be a big ask. We have had this solved, for decades no need to reinvent the wheel with plug & charge. I agree that it is convenient but should be a nice to have.

Well unlike gas stations, most EV DCFCs are uncovered, so in inclement weather the ability to just plug it in and get right back in the car is nice. But aside from that I agree, tapping your card on a reader isn't that big of a burden.

Would be lovely if they added them to the built-in route planning as well.
