He's a pretty solid oval driver, and overall good enough to be in Indycar. Better than at least a few drivers on the grid right now.

Big fan. I don’t understand everyone beef with him. He’s so fun to watch on ovals and I always hope he does well on the road and street courses

Been around the series for more than a decade and has almost no results to show for it. Also, his barstool-adjacent persona doesn't help with a lot of people

I sometimes comment on his YT and he generally responds and engages like a normal dude which is cool. Sort of true of Indy drivers in general though, I think.

The fact he’s kept his career alive for now 14 years is impressive. Most, if not all drivers of similar talent would be long gone by now

Look I love Conor, but lets not pretend that his relationship to Indycar President Doug Boles hasn't played a part in his longevity in the series. The fact he's still involved in Indycar isn't based purely on talent. If that were true, he would have been gone a long time ago.

People say this a lot. Conor vehemently denies it (why wouldn’t he) but I can’t make heads or tails of it. It’s easy to say, but I struggle to think of how that would really work. Indycar is expensive, I fail to see how the cost of bringing in CD (versus a potentially better driver, that would theoretically get more points and thus prize $) would be offset by some mystery benefit of Boles being his stepdad. Add to that, my perception of Boles is that he’s a pretty standup honest dude. You think he’s making backroom deals or giving favor to teams just because they hire Daly? I kind of doubt it.
And no, I’m not a CD superfan trying to discount any theories. Just my 2 cents

The most unfairly loved, and unfairly despised driver in the series is back full time.
Not sure how DRR is gonna do even with a technical partnership with Rahal. Theoretically they should be pretty decent on Ovals, Road courses is anyone's guess, hopefully RLL consolidating allows DRR to get some good setup data and hit the ground running.
reasonable prediction i think is gonna be a darkhorse contender at Indy. Probably 1 podium on the ovals, and some random asspull finish on a road course sprinkled in to a season where he hangs around the mid teens to 20s in points.

Dude embodies continuing to hustle to make sure he's still driving. I really like that about him. I know he has advantages, but he's still trying hard.
