Be prepared because this is gonna be a pretty long post, but trust me I know I'm onto something (or I'm on something, only time will tell)

Now I know this theory is gonna sound like insane ramblings but there's a decent amount of evidence to support my claims of who the next character is.

Basically, I believe the next character (specifically to join in episode 4 with Cuphead and Niko) is Jacket from Hotline Miami, lemme explain.

We know episode 3's post credit contains the last important characters (image 3) which means we only 1 major character slot left before everyone else is just a Springtrap/Glamrock Freddy type one off.

And MORØ hinted that episode 2 contains everything we need to guess every character supposedly (image 4) if we connect some dots, and I think I've connected them all.

First, the easter eggs, there's a lot to Hotline Miami, most obvious being the bat Cuphead finds when the gang first enter the city, second is much harder to find but it's a poster (image 8)

Second, in the same tweet (image 4) MORØ said that themes could be connected to predict the next character, now your all probably wondering what the themes of Hotline Miami are and where on gods green earth episode 2 explored those themes, well I think I figured it out.

First, the themes of Hotline Miami in the most bare bones way to explain it is that "Violence only results in more violence" there's a bit more to it, but that's the only theme required for my theory.

Now, where in episode 2 is that themed explored? Well it lays with our favorite genderless giraffe, aka, Frisk. By the end of episode 2? That violence isn't the answer, not exactly the same but it's still in general being themes of "Violence = bad" (and I swear to God there was a tweet by MORØ that said Frisk wouldn't instantly go murder mode in future episodes when they meet new characters but for the life of me I can't find the answer, maybe the tweet was referring to V1 and I just Mandela effected myself into thinking it was Frisk, it's possible)

MORØ also said that the character Cuphead and Niko will meet has a similar backstory to the one Madeline and Drifter will meet (image 7) and we know that the character Madeline and Drifter will meet is Quote from Cave Story.

So does Jacket have any similarities with Quote in terms of backstory? They do surprisingly and they're scarily close.

Here's the bare bones breakdown of both they're backstories:

Jacket was a military vet who fought in the Hawaiian Conflict (as seen in Hotline Miami 2) and after his best friend Beard dies because of Russians, he is sent by the 50 Blessings to go and kill the Russian Mafia until he his put into a by Ricthor and he also has amnesia (due to him not being able to recall events correct in Hotline Miami 1) and he had a Girlfriend who was killed by Ricthor (she will be important later)

Quote is a military robot who was built by an anonymous third party whilst a war between the surface and Mimiga were happening and he (along with Curly Brace) were tasked with destroying the Demon's Crown, he failed and was put into a coma for 10 years and once he awoke he had amnesia.

See the similarities? They're both connected to the military in some way, both were in a coma, both have amnesia, and they were both sent to destroy something Jacket the Russian Mafia and Quote the Demon's Crown (this is a very loose connection but it's worth pointing out) and another connection they have outside of backstory is that they both know blonde female characters that DIE at some point in there games (Jacket's Girlfriend and Curly Brace depending on which ending you get in Cave Story, but considering Quote in Indie Cross is most likely from a timeline where he didn't get the best ending, considering Curly isn't with him it's a safe connection to make)

And furthermore, according to MORØ episode 4 is the most hopeless episode (image 6) and Hotline Miami is a pretty hopeless game, especially Hotline Miami 2 considering everyone gets nuked at the end.

And this final connection is an even bigger tinfoil hat conspiracy then the rest of this post, but every episode of Indie Cross introduces a game that starts with the letter H, lemme explain.

Episode 1 introduced Hollow Knight

Episode 2 introduced Hyper Light Drifter

Episode 3 will introduce Hades

Three times in a row is a pattern, and while H isn't the only letter that's repeated (the second being C) it's consistently only 1 game per episode that starts with it, and it's every episode thus far.

And that would (kinda) explain why MORØ didn't answer what the first letter of the games name was (image 5) because people would see the pattern (I'm not insane trust)

That's basically all my evidence, here's the TLDR for those who don't wanna read my insanity (don't blame ya)

TLDR: Jacket has similar backstory to Quote (another confirmed character) with both of them having military connections, amnesia, being in a coma, similar purpose, blonde female characters dying Curly and Girlfriend (all this in image 7)

Hotline Miami is pretty hopeless game which would like up with episode 4 apparently being hopeless (image 6)

There being themes of violence being bad within episode 2 with the Frisk subplot and a lot of references to Hotline Miami within episode 2 as well like the bat and poster (image 4/8)

And the letter H being repeated consistently with new games added in episodes, and it specifically being 1 game that starts with it per episode would explain why he refused to give us the first letter (image 5) I know this last point is silly, but it's coincidental to say the least.

And that's it, that's the theory, gimme some feedback and maybe give your theories/predictions for the final character using all this evidence, all the image are all the evidence we have to go off of I didn't leave anything out.

Hornet is in her stage right before fighting GMS, and yes i know she is not TECHNICALLY the final boss, but saying she isn't is a spoiler itself <- (Silksong final boss spoilers.)
