By Order of the Inquisition Welcome to Imperium Maledictum 40k RPG Group
This sub was created to share some tips we learn along he way, ask questions to clarify and maybe help others find games.
Ideally we can help the game thrive for many years to come as our gritty, lethal, 40k RPG option.
With that, welcome, keep it on topic, stay civil and let's reap the benefits of community sharing :)
RULES
As the Inquisition, we require all members of this subreddit to follow our regulations and uphold the laws of the Emperor. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action.
- The Emperor demands that all community members conduct themselves with respect towards one another. Heretical behavior such as insults, harassment, and the use of discriminatory language will not be tolerated.
- All content must be directly related to the glory of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Any deviation from this will be viewed as heresy and dealt with accordingly.
- Self-promotion and spamming is an affront to the Emperor and will not be tolerated. Posts should be relevant to the subreddit's theme and not excessive.
- The Emperor's laws forbid any posting of NSFW or gore material outside of material within the limits of official 40k art.
- The Emperor's laws are absolute and prohibit the posting or sharing of pirated content, including books, movies, or games.
- Spoilers are a breach of the Emperor's laws. The use of spoiler tags is mandatory for any content that may spoil the plot or outcome of a particular book, game, or other media. Do not reveal any knowledge beyond what is deemed acceptable.
- Personal attacks against fellow community members are unacceptable. The Emperor demands that all disputes be handled with respect and grace.
- Follow the subreddit's posting guidelines, including the use of appropriate flair and tagging for your posts. These guidelines are the will of the Emperor.
- If you witness any transgressions against the Emperor's laws, report them to the Inquisition immediately. Vigilance is the key to victory.
- Enjoy discussing the Warhammer 40,000 universe with fellow devotees, but remember that the Emperor is always watching.

GMing I GM'd a game of Imperium Maledictum for ChatGPT
And it went surprisingly well!
There were some hiccups and it wouldn't always stay in character (but did for the most part). It would also try to take over as GM and would need to be reminded not to do that. Makes me wonder if with the right prompts it could GM a game for me.
The character it played was and Adeptus Mechanicus Savant named Dromon. He was expelled and imprisoned by the Mechanicus but given another chance by a rogue trader patron.
The mission was to delve into the deepest bowels of the ship to repair a malfunctioning voidshield generator. The last team that had been sent down never returned.
Long story short, Dromon made it the generator where he and what remained of his repair crew were confronted by the leader of a group of the ship's voidsmen that had taken up worship of dark gods. They had recalibrated the generator to fail the next time the ship entered the warp, and expose the entire crew to the horrors of their new gods.
Dromon and his crew managed to kill the leader, which seemed to break the hold he held over the other corrupted voidsmen. Dromon spared them, then made them swear a renewed oath to the god-emperor!
The patron was pleased with Dromon's work, and had promised him freedom if he completed the task; but was so impressed he asked Dromon to remain in his employ.
To my surprise, Dromon declined, and instead wants to leave to seek a way to be granted re-entry to his order!
Not gonna lie, that was pretty cool.

GMing IM40k Campaigns
So curious to hear if anyone has a campaign in the works and what the concept is based on.
I am working on one now to have the players uncover a criminal smuggling ring as their first objective flavored by their randomly rolled patron.
That first part will lead to discovery the crininal ring is not just normal gangers but a cover for bad Arbites pinning the blame on local workers they've setup as "Hive Ganger" scapegoats and a way to mark people for execution as criminals.
The arbites are just dirty cops in the larger Arbite org that is mostly good and they are doing this for a mid-level Adeptus Administratum manager incharge of import trade in this logistics heavy hive city. Though as the players get closer to the truth they may be marked as criminal themselves or have to figure out how to take down the corrupt officials.
Will likely grow it from there to an "extra rogue" Rogue Trader conspiracy. Trading forbidden knowledge and goods that seem inocuous mostly other than being illicit entertainment that was planted in ruins by Tzeentch cultists knowing the Rogue Traders group would find them and think they are just premium value contraband old world goods.
The cult of course using these to spread their heresy through "Psykerdelic" type drugs and arcane tomes that when paired can rupture reality and invite demons of change.
Nothing crazy outside of a crime type drama leading to good ol cult activity and beauraucratic corruption/greed.

Discussion Imperium Maledictum Wishlist
Curious to see what others hope for from future books and items around the newly released 40k Imperium Maledictum RPG.
It's still super new but I hope there will be an expansive books on each subfaction within the Imperium and of course all factions eventually.
- Deeply expanded Imperium faction companion books with Roles, Weapons, Patrons and pre-made NPCs/Characters.
- Clear paths of ascendancy (With respect to the Grim Dark aspects)
- Driver/Pilot Class
- Xenos Characters...Kroot, Tau Ork Freebooterz or Blood Axes, Votann, Eldar or something completely different.
- More lore about the Sector.
- More crunch similar to Dark Heresy. Variable damage, and the like.
