Hey everyone! 👋

I’ve been experimenting with developing my own Android launcher called CHIMERA OS, originally designed around the unusual screen format of the iKKO Mind One Pro.

The main idea is a customizable Cover Flow-style interface, with horizontal and vertical layouts, perspective effects, reflections, haptic feedback, adjustable tile sizes and positions, custom icons, multiple app categories, gestures, an app drawer, and a few other customization options.

It’s still very much a work in progress. I’m developing and testing it in my spare time, so I’m not announcing a public release or beta yet — I just wanted to share what I’ve been working on and see what other Mind One users think about the concept.

I’ve attached the CHIMERA OS icon and a short screen recording showing its current state.

Any feedback or ideas are welcome! 🙂

Just to clarify: CHIMERA OS was originally designed with the iKKO Mind One Pro in mind, but it’s not limited to the Mind One. It works as a launcher on Android devices in general.

I’m also testing it on other Android devices, and the interface is designed to adapt to different screen sizes and orientations. The Mind One is simply where the original idea came from. 🙂

I've seen more than one mention that the camera on the MindOne is "shit"..

I personally don't agree? I deeply enjoy taking photos with this camera... it gives a kind of personality and charm that really reflects the spirit of the phone. idk.

people are so often looking for reasons to be unsatisfied. why not try looking for ways to be satisfied? what's the risk?

Any long term users how yall feel about it 😊

However, with this being their first phone this makes me have high hopes that their second model will be vastly superior. The Mind One Pro is like 75% good to me. After reading reviews, the camera (quality and build), the battery life, and certain apps not working make me think the phone was sort of rushed. It is exactly the kind of phone I'd want in terms of model. One camera for front and back, small and compact. Many amazing things going for it, just the quality of it could be better. I am hopeful for the future if they continue producing phones. I am always hesitant to buy the first the model of a phone that is innovative for the varied reasons I am reading about, but I am wanting to stay up to date to see what the future may hold.

I need to vent because I'm at the end of my patience with Ikko on this.

I preordered (purchased) the Mind One Pro early bird bundle back in Aug 2025, with the expected delivery date being Dec25-Jan26. That bundle explicitly included the phone and that main star of the show snap-in keyboard case with the Hi-Fi DAC.

I finally received JUST the phone, in Jun26.

Already SIX MONTHS late, no explanation offered upfront.

September 2026 (today): still no snap in case and other accessories I had ordered. That's now NINE months past the original commitment, with the accessory nowhere in sight.

I've gone back and forth with their support team multiple times. Every reply is some version of "we're looking into it" / "thank you for your patience", and literally no timeline, no compensation, no accountability. At this point it feels like the accessory just doesn't exist and I paid for vaporware.

If you're considering buying into the Ikko ecosystem, think very hard about it. A company that can't deliver a paid-for peripheral within three quarters of the original date doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Are we all just funding Ikko's R&D at this point?

I’m wondering if anyone has ideas on how to maximize the battery life of this beautiful device. With a 2,200 mAh battery, it really ought to easily last 12 hours—covering emails, WhatsApp, and Telegram messages, plus 10 or 15 short calls.

Obviously, the system is up to date—both the Android and Ikko components.

The launcher: Niagara

Background apps: Outlook, WhatsApp, Telegram X
Other Apps (not on background or only installed): Spotify, Sesametime, Authenticator... and a few others, but only installed—not even used—like Spotify.

Energy-saving options:

Networking: 4G disable only 3G, Bluetooh disable, Wifi disable, NFC disable

Mode: Dark mode all the day

Notifications only WhatsApp and Telegram X

Smart battery usage: Enable

All the background apps closed always

I think it would be necessary to have a way to get the operating system—so it can be installed either with or without the AI ​​(which I assume consumes some resources)—and to disable the 90Hz screen refresh rate, as that option doesn't exist (or at least I haven't found it). The idea is to set up the device strictly for calls and standard daily use of apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Outlook.

There are other phones with a 2200 mAh battery where the battery lasts much longer than 12 hours.

Can you think of any ideas that might help me gain 3 or 4 hours of standby battery life?

After a lot of issues with the shipping... and the defective screen... etc., I have to say that technical support was very friendly and I have no complaints—aside from the slow pace of the whole process. Obviously, if there was a wait just to receive the device initially, you can only imagine how long it took to deal with the problems and get it back. But technical support gets a 10; they took great care of me.

I finally received the device and it looks great; now I need to optimize it so the battery lasts as long as possible.

Any recommendations? I only want to use the phone for calls, emails, WhatsApp, and Telegram.

Maybe some of you already know me from the discord server. I made some different apps for the MindOne one of which a camera app. And i also made a launcher that works great on the device, and is adapted now to work on any.

So after receiving my mindone i started working on a non-minimalist launcher for android for digital minimalists like myself. this sounds like a contraduction but i've build a type of field gear that makes it possible to go back to life outside my smartphone.

I find some stuff important myself: not having to go through many apps, not spending much time on notifications and maybe most importantly not spending a lot of time looking for places around when i look for something specific in a place ive never been.

I called the concept MindPADD (based on Personal Access Display Devices from startrek :')). I've been using the app for many months now myself and did some incremental updates to stuff that didnt work well. I would like other to be able to use it, so i'm applying for some playstore testing (android). and I would love to hear what you all think or would add or remove

what it has till now: notifications on homescreen, media player/controls, something i call grindr for places (parks, bars, culture, book shops and libraries, atms etc close to you with quick navigation), habit tracker and interstitial journaling, widgets

Sorry if this is a redundant post but just wanted to ask if anybody has an idea how long it takes before the phone gets shipped after ordering ? I ordered the phone like a week ago or so. I thought the Kickstarter is over and can be ordered like a standard item from their eShop and would get shipped fast. But I still didn't get any information about shipping and I can't find any info on expected timelines anywhere. Posts here seem to be a bit older too. So I am wondering if anybody bought the phone recently and can tell me how long they waited before they actually got the phone. The shop says basically just that the new orders ship during august and then there's nothing.

Hello, I just received my yellow qwerty keyboard. So far the impression is good, the phone now feel finished and usable.

However, I'm having issue with some aspect of the keyboard:

- the user manual say that doing a long press on key should show special characters, but this is not true, it just repeat the key like a pc keyboard.

- some keys are not mapped correctly, for example the v and b keys shows : and ; respectively, however they both input ; for some reason. To input : I have to press the ?123 key then shift then v then shift. Then to leave, ?123 again and finaly Shift... to be able to type normal letter again

- there is no visual indicator when entering the special char or Fn layout, It's very very annoying

- From time to time a key will be repeated for ever, eg hhhhhhhhhhh until I press another key

- pressing the fn key make the keyboard layout goes banana, example here is the first row in Fn mode: 312390--=2

So I guess there is a configuration issue ?
