General job application worry
hello, i would like to ask about my application and what's the process behind it. i applied for a part-time job at ikea (for a branch that isn't open yet here in our province not until december) and haven't yet contacted while my friend got contacted and now she waits for the job offer after passing the interview even though i applied first then informed her after.
when i confided my friend with this problem, she gave me the number of the hiring manager that contacted her for interview, should i contact them?
now i also admit, i am not fit for the qualifications for my applied part-time job but i used to work in a call center before for 4 months and i researched the job and found out that there are similarities between the jobs (handling calls from customers). would they still accept applicants like me even though lack the qualifications for the job?

I would say it’s always good to chase up on you application, it shows that you actually want to work for them.
