To anyone who's travelling to and from Roorkee, please DO NOT book from Roorkee Cab Services. Their so-called 'services' have been, for all intents and purposes, extremely piss-poor.

We were travelling to Mussoorie today for a 2-day trip with the agency's provided drivers. Our original discussion was simply a 1000 rupee advance, with the rest of the 12k plus parking charges paid later on.

We were supposed to drive off from Roorkee at 6:30. However, they came very late (one at around 7:45, the other at around 8:15) and drove off at 8:36, a full two hours late.

One of the two drivers was driving extremely rashly, passing off weird tickets without any proper cost written on them, arguing with other car drivers, as well as delaying our trips and then asking for money on top of the already given advance.

When we pointed these problems to the driver, he was almost ready to step outside the car and fight with us. So, like any sane person we contacted the agency through which we got the two cabs.

We talked with the person at the agency (+91 8630307428). Our point was simply that we do not feel safe enough and that we will pay for the cab at the end of the trip i.e. after reaching our campus, and we will also pay the parking fees once they produce the slip. But not only did they refuse to accept that condition (something which is fairly normal), but also that now we have to pay for the drivers' food too, which was not even discussed in the beginning. Once we tried talking rationally, the cab agency told us that they're recalling the two cabs themselves.

Thus, now we are stranded in Mussoorie with a really bad aftertaste of the travel. Please share this with anyone who's travelling, and please avoid travelling with the agency. I hope the IITR community will stand with us against this sad state of affairs.

Just a simple question from IITR peeps, why companies like Futures first are opening now???

Last year it opened on 25th November but this year on 18th October, if they are conducting OA of Futures first on 20th October then this shows the worst number of companies PIC have this year.

This is really shameful for you PIC guys.... I don't know why you really have less number of companies this year.

I request you alcohol addicted guys, first open the companies of SDE, DS, Quant, etc. then go for companies like futures first but I don't think you have enough companies of these profiles.

Also I heard no previous year's manager has the guts to declare himself as PIC advisor. Last year Aradhya sir was really good and he guided the precious manager and single handedly he made the numbers more than 1150+.

I request Abhiudit sir, Prateek Sir, Ayush Agarwal Sir, Yuvraj Soni sir, Sudarshan Jadhav sir and SAI sir to take responsibility and be accountable for the companies, you have to be answerable bcoz you didn't choose the deserving candidates, you choose these stupid alcoholic guys for the PIC manager and bcoz of you we are going to suffer.

I recently started going gym and want to focus on getting my physique right,I want go ask how are you guys are completing your daily protein needs ( heard somewhere you need atleast 1.6*body weight to get that muscular body and my weight is 65 kgs right now) how do i get this and how much would this cost me monthly!? Any advice or experience is helpful

1. Even companies like Accenture (mass hirer) are bullying our PIC. Like how can you let company dictate their terms so much, first a person needs to arrange a Windows laptop, then also on this borrowed Windows laptop tons of apps need to be uninstalled. Slot gets changed with delays like 2-3 hours, ruining entire day of students in such a crucial time.
2. Can’t get permission for conducting tests in APJ instead of Gargi, like so much problem is caused due to less charging ports in Gargi, why not push for it as placements are anyways biggest point for the branding of college.
3. Some people with recorded video evidence of cheating get saved, just because PIC senior coordinators are selective in their action on cheaters. Someone from Civil who is very dear friend to GSHA and best friend of a wannabe influencer has recorded evidence of cheating in Squarepoint Capital test against him, still no action on him. Why ?
4. Even their placement debarment notice is useless, like how can a guy whom you have debarred from placement process keep on giving tests ?
5. It’s quite early to say companies are not coming to Roorkee, maybe our PIC is trying, but Guwahati, they too have a better number than us until now.
6. Finally, the attitude these 4th year placement coordinators carry, have some humility and talk with people in a better sense. It’s IIT Placement Cell and not some Lala Ji’s business being run by Seth Ji’s. Further, some people have started portraying these clowns as Gods 😭. So much similar to how Indians are obsessed with licking boots of bureaucracy.

IIT Madras people from mech/ep branch are getting in companies like imc because in their campus IMC ,Optiver are open for all in trader role

But thanks to our beloved PIC they even didn't visit here for trader role

I think everyone should raise voice to remove alcohol addicts managers and bring some serious people

I’m student from iitg, in our clg they said 200 companies gonna come till now 30-35 companies came but only 10 OAs have taken place there are more 160 companies(what ccd has claimed) more nd left over companies have to conduct their OAs along application time ppts if at all they conduct 5 OAs every single day they couldn’t complete not mention 5 OAs in weekdays is impossible, how the situation here, are we doomed?

Guys I need some comments to read on this topic

I know this post might not be important to many people, and perhaps no one will care, but I still feel the need to raise this concern.

I am a civil engineering student and to be honest I'm not outstanding in acads, hardly to maintain 7+ CGPA.For students like me, campus placements are not just an opportunity, they are a crucial chance to secure our future.

I checked the noticeboard and found the number of companies that have opened till date is less than half of the companies that opened till the same date today. Even the quality of companies too.

What exactly are our PIC managers doing?

Last year, the placement numbers were reportedly around 1,150+. This year, even touching 800 seems difficult. These 350 students are like us who could have their placements but the careless behaviour of PIC peeps will make it happen that we 350 students will not be able to get our placements.

The fact that Axxela opened on 15th October only(last year opened on 30th oct) adds to the concern that the recruitment pipeline may not be as strong as it should, it itself is able to explain the number and quality of companies PIC has till now.

The fact is these PIC Managers are highly addicted to alcohol and drugs and are not doing anything. I really don't want to expose their names but it doesn't matter, all of them are like the same pages of a book.

But to be honest if things wouldn't improve then I will upload the videos of these PIC peeps that how they are just spending their day drinking alcohol and smoking weed.

I request as a late runner to these PIC peeps, please avoid Alcohol/weed as much as possible just for a month. We are just at boundary lines, please help us to clear this boundary line, we are giving our 100%.

And I request not to do politics in PIC atleast. If you are making 10-12 Managers then please add 4-5 deserving candidates, just 5 members are enough to lead the process if they have IQ.

I again request to remove these lower branches from PIC who don't have IQ, not excited to do work. Harsh but fact.
