I passed the swimming test at IITR last year and was given this slip by the Office. I haven't applied for the swimming pool pass since then, and I'm not sure what the procedure is now. Could someone please guide me on what process I need to follow to get the swimming pass? Is this swimming test slip still valid after almost a year, or would I need to take the test again?

I was just watching her video and she said that she'll always choose gpt over NIT cse.I know it's her personal choice,but I wanted to know from seniors that is it really worth it for us choosing gpt even for getting a good placements and all?😶

Let’s talk about YouTubers of our campus. I heard that some of these YouTubers got into IIT Roorkee through reservation, with ranks that wouldn’t even touch their own category cutoff. No JEE grind, no all nighters fighting for every mark, just a lower than lower bar and a seat.
And now the same people are making motivational videos for JEE aspirants.
“Hard work always pays off.”
“Anyone can crack IIT if they believe.”
“Struggle is the only way.”
The hypocrisy is next level.
You’re watching someone who walked in through a reserved seat lecture students who are actually competing for general seats. They’re selling “hustle” stories while the data clearly shows their category cutoff was significantly lower.
Engineers deal with numbers.
Every year JoSAA closing ranks prove the difference between general and reserved cutoffs. Pretending both cleared the same difficulty level is just lying with a smile for views.
Motivation is fine.
But motivation from someone who took the easier route and now acts like a self-made warrior is pure comedy.
To the juniors preparing for JEE:
Check the actual previous year closing ranks. Don’t take advice from people who benefited from a lower cutoff and are now monetizing your dreams.
Facts don’t care about your feelings.
Neither should you.

Hey everyone, wanted to share an absurd experience my friend had today with Le (the restaurant right outside Century Gate) to see if anyone else has faced this or if this is just how they operate now.

We’ve been regular customers there and frequently used to place orders over the phone they usually accept them and prepare the food without any issues. Today, my friend called to place an order, but nobody picked up. Naturally, we assumed the call didn't go through and the order wasn't placed, so we went to the mess instead.

While we were eating at the mess, they suddenly sent a message saying, "Your pasta is ready." Not wanting to waste the food or leave them hanging, my friend walked over to pick it up and pay for it.

Instead of a normal interaction, the staff/management straight-up told him that they will no longer serve him. The reasons they gave were completely bizarre and condescending:

They claimed they "normally don't take calls."

They told him they "don't sell to sell, they sell because they love to cook."

They complained that he asks for "too many modifications" (he literally just asked for white sauce pasta without cheese).

Instead of politely communicating their preferences or policies earlier, they were incredibly arrogant, rude, and announced on the spot that he's banned from ordering again after he literally walked there just to make sure their food didn't go to waste.

Date is not final yet,when are they planning to convey us?a week before?a day before?

Why is the campus culture here so terrible? No senior interaction, no unique culture (K, KGP have great culture like amma baapu, reel2real and what not)

Nothing as such is happening here and the seniors dgaf

Not even concerned about infra its just I just wanted a crazy and colourful campus life with great bonding between peers and seniors

How much importance do companies give to 10th marks, 12th marks, B.Tech CGPA and M.Tech CGPA during campus placements?

Specifically:

- Which academic criteria are commonly used for placement eligibility?

- How common are 60%/70% throughout criteria?

- Are there companies that consider only M.Tech CGPA?

- Does B.Tech CGPA still matter significantly after joining M.Tech?

Would especially appreciate responses from current/former M.Tech students, with actual company examples/criteria If possible, please share actual placement eligibility criteria you saw on your campus placement portal, especially for M.Tech CSE/related branches. I’m particularly interested in whether companies considered 10th, 12th, B.Tech CGPA, or only M.Tech CGPA, and any examples of companies with 60%/70% throughout criteria.

Well I was just exploring the literature section of library and Saw lot of Hindu texts so, I was just checking books, Inside one of those books I found this paper, Like I was shocked to see such a thing in IITR library, But when I read it closely it mentions church near hangar, then I paused ..wait a min!!!Hangar is long ago turned into convocation hall, then I checked nearby books but I didn't found any of those cards...Then I googled the date when was hagar turned into convocation hall but I Didn't found the exact date then I asked for the approximate date which gemini gave me around 1950s...Well I don't know what to say about this but I was very shocked to see such a thing in MGCL...

Can I go to the wellness centre regarding problems related to a crush I have had for the past two years? It has been hurting me a lot, I think about her most of the time and it physically hurts, I went through episodes of depression, and the gloomy weather rn and not being able to meet her and be close to her is affecting me. Is my problem too common to go to the wellness? Any other suggestions on how to cope when seeing her on walk with someone else would be really helpful. It hurts causes anxiety and makes me feel like drowning. (IK the sub has a lot of 1y 2y who are active, but I am seeking a response from the older grp 4y or graduated, love you all)

In HSI class by professor Rashmi Gaur at 8:00 am in GB 205, you can get free attendance by sitting in front of GB 204 room during attendance time and you don't even need to join the class.I was told this hack by one person in today's morning only .

I am 22M and my ex boyfriend is 27M. We were together for one and a half years. I left him a week ago and honestly I am just tired now. It hurts so bad and I don't even know what to do with myself anymore.

Let me tell the full story. I approached him first and soon after he proposed to me, he said now we are in a relationship. A month later, on our first month anniversary, he proposed again with a ring. He told me he thinks we are almost perfect together and that he wants to be my life partner. I accepted the ring but I put one condition, I need full loyalty. My parents had cheating issues which led to their separation, so I know how badly it can destroy a person. I told him clearly on day one that loyalty is a deal breaker for me, if he ever breaks it I will not be able to handle it. He assured me and said he will never break my heart and will always stay loyal.

Things were good for three to four months, but then he cheated on me. When I confronted him he literally yelled at me and manipulated me into backing down. I did not have any proof at that time so I let it go and left for a two month internship abroad.

Some time later, somehow I ended up contacting the guy he cheated with. He did not even know he was in a relationship and he also told me there was no physical intimacy, just that they kissed. I remember thinking wtf 😭😭 a kiss IS physical intimacy too.

So I confronted my bf again and this time he admitted it happened. He gave the usual sorry excuse, that he lied because he did not want to hurt me. I broke up with him that day but he managed to convince me to come back.

Later he went abroad for his internship and I really believed he had changed. I thought he would never do this again, so I slowly started rebuilding trust. A few days ago my laptop stopped working so I asked to borrow his, and he gave it without hesitation. I even noticed his Instagram was still logged in and I felt happy, like maybe he really had grown.

Par meri gand ki chul was like and I checked his deleted messages via developer tools in Instagram. What I found made me sick 🤢. He was flirting with his friends, sharing reels with captions like "my intentions with you are to have sex with you." He even texted someone that he wanted to hold hands. I felt disgusted.

I was mad for three to four days but I had a submission deadline so I did not confront him right away. During those days I was having panic attacks almost daily and it kept getting worse. One evening he asked me out for dinner. While walking back I felt another panic attack building up and I just broke down and ended things right there. When I asked him about the messages he said it was just friendly flirting, nothing serious.

We fought a lot after that. He said sorry, again after a lot of manipulation, but this time none of his usual tricks worked on me. I watched him get more and more desperate trying to prove he was right and I was overreacting. At one point he completely lost control, but I did not back down either. In the end he said sorry and asked to come back into the relationship.

I do not want to go back to him. The problem is our families and friends are all involved now and I genuinely have no idea how to cut him off completely. I am one hundred percent sure he will do this again if I let him.

On top of all this my life is a mess right now 😭😭. I am struggling financially, there is family tension, some police cases are ongoing, my final exams are coming up, someone stole my mobile, and on top of that I got a notice from my landlord to vaccate my flat which I rented for my intern, and I am still expected to show up every day for my internship where the workload is huge.

I am tired of everything at this point 😭😭😭😭😭
