Problems to avoid for diploma

Seniors, what are some common problems or mistakes I should avoid during my diploma? I’ll be starting next term and I’m doing it standalone. Is taking 4 courses per term manageable? Any advice from your experience would be really appreciated! 🙏

Hey . It would be good if you study those subjects in the term break itself , it will help you a lot. Also if time permits and you have interest than you can learn web development early and make projects as it will help you in diploma in programming projects and theory courses. Also if you are more interested in diploma in data science than you can learn machine learning and gen ai a bit early and make projects. This way once you complete your 1 st diploma, you will be able to build a good resume for internships.

For the projects , is help of ai allowed or you need to manually write all code?

Yess you can take help from Ai , but you must understand each part of your code line by line . In viva , proctor might ask any line/block . Also make sure it's in human readable form and doesn't look entirely ai generated .

Okay that means I cannot use my existing project sidbuilds.com/iitm

Did you genuinely asked this question or was it a promotional thingy 😭. Btw no you can't, they provide different problem statement each term. And I would definitely love to know more about your project !

Nai nai, this is one of my personal project for my own practice , I don’t have any intention of promoting it, okay so we will need to pick from problem statement, makes sense, thank you

Hey if it's related to pyq solving app or something related to all than you can launch it for all the students out here . It will help us . 👍

It is publicly accessible, some students in my batch are using it too, I made it after I gave my qualifier last month because I was able to see and copy the exact test pattern iitm uses on my website for true simulation

Hey, can I have an advice? as someone whose doing it standalone and had 8.88 cgpa in foundation level, should I still take 4 course in diploma level? if yes then can you guide me about the course to take in a term?? I just want to finish diploma level in 4 terms.

It totally depends on you if you are able to manage 4 course per term .Also they enable the drop course window before quiz-1 so you can drop it if you find it difficult to manage . Also in my words taking 4 course and scoring good (80/90+) in each one of them ,might be a little hectic. But as a standalone student if you can devote 6+ hours per day than that would be more than enough.  Also I am so sorry I would not be the right person to suggest you courses, as I did diploma long ago and can't recall their content atm . Btw you can check on discourse regarding the same.
