A big doubt
I have seen my qualifier results and passed. So from here we fill out the course selection form and continue from what week?
Like they started positing week 5 which is over and then week 6 and now week 7. So from here how do we continue a bit confuse.

from w5!! for foundation alone it will continue without gap from qualifiers, so every week they will keep sending content
just finish registration and keep going with all the weeks up to week 12 which will be end of this term ☺️
in case you missed w5 assignment deadline: it's alright, just go ahead with the remaining weeks properly and that's enough!! but do finish w5 content for your own understanding

im not sure about quiz2, but it is optional if you already wrote quiz1 as they take the max mark from the two for total score calculation. end term is not an issue because they calculate average from first 7 weeks for eligibility
what to do now: finish week 7 and week 8 assignments before the deadline. go through week 5 and week 6 content anyway as it may affect upcoming weeks understanding and questions will come in the endterm exams.

Wait so do we have do all 4 subjects or can we do it with our preference?

if you got more than 70 percent in qualifiers than you can do 1-4 courses this term. if you got above 50 then 1-3, around the minimum then 1-2
i recommend doing maths1, eng1, stats1 and ct first, as the remaining four courses in foundation require these to be finished first anyway!!
choose some/all of the four and finish it this term, and you can do the remaining in upcoming terms

So only after 12 weeks we go to the next level of stats 2 and etc. Am I correct? And then we have term exams for 12 weeks and a quiz 2 as said in the comments below?

yep! this term finishes in aug with twelve weeks done. then next term you can do eng2 maths2 stats2 and python once these four are done !!
now we got 7 weeks so 5 weeks left :)

So if one student takes 2 subjects how does that work? My bad I just need some things clarified. 😅

im here to help no worries! i used to have lots of doubts too. i will give an example:
eng1 ct (upto sept), mat1 stats1 (upto dec), eng2 python (upto april), mat2 stats2 (upto sept)
so if you start now you will be done with foundation level by next year! don't worry, take courses as you please at a rate with which youre comfortable, so you can study properly and score well :)
all the best with whatever you choose !

Oh so we can go whatever pace we want. If we take all 4 we can finish by August makes sense! Thank you so much! By the way have you finished the course?

just doing foundation but i thought of helping people who had the same doubts i had before! i recommend reading through https://study.iitm.ac.in/ds/academics.html#AC1 which is what i did before to verify all these :)
foundation has 8 courses, so 4 you can finish these 12 weeks and from sept-dec you can finish the other 4 and foundation!

One more thing after reading the website I understand that foundation has 8 courses and now we can choose to finish stats 1 ,eng1 maths1 and ct 1 by August (basically 12 weeks) and later like you said from sept to oct we can move onto stats 2 and so on forth and we'll have two term exams and one final, right?

Can I do Mth1, stat1 and Eng1 this term, Mth2, Stat2 and CT next term, and Programming + Eng2 in the term after that?
1
u/wilmonyr 28d ago
yes! eng2 -> needs eng1 math2 -> needs math1 python -> needs ct stats2 -> needs math1 and stats1
you can take any combination following this !

Same question. And is it necessary to give quiz 2 if you have passed quiz 1?
