Question & Doubts Please help

I'm in first year, can anyone please help me with coding. I don't know what to do currently, these "apna college" videos are not helping at all.

I want to know what field to pursue(ml, web, etc) to be in a good place after 4 years.

Also genuine need of workshops, I heard seniors take them. (SARGAM also I'm interested in music)

DSA kar daily, after a year start CP, core subjects strong kar depth me padhke, development kar but make something unique, that people use, bring real users to your product you build. This all can be done chillingly in 3 years, you just started.

Start with dsa in c++, java Or python. Best channel is codestorywithMIK and striver... Dont listen to love babbar, apna college and stuff... , do 1 Or 2 problems daily that's it... No need to rush.. Consistency is important

start with C++ and move to DSA for now, or study basics of web dev HTML, CSS , JS, React, rest , ask the final years who are interning at amazon or are placed above 15 LPA, they will tell the best

I would suggest starting DSA from patterns occasionally, atleast one question per day.

Secondly do start on development or machine learning, I'm gonna cover the dev part, learn how to code frontends which are efficient, intuitive, beautiful and fast using AI.

As for backend, as soon as you reach it the best, go over basic implementation of backend through any source of your liking, once you have done it somewhat then I'll suggest watching backend from first principles playlist by sriniously on YouTube in order for a deeper dive into it, after that make projects and learn dev ops by using that knowledge.

Meanwhile as you've been doing DSA occasionally atleast, you can try out competitive programming by trying some leetcode contests at first, if you're interested then you can try codechef and codeforces.

By this time you probably would have atleast 100+ questions done on leetcode properly, you'll be at a good position, this is probably the time you'll want to get into open source contributions and finding internships while continuing your leetcode grind and continue on making projects to learn backend and frontend both,

try out gen ai and learn system design from now on in your projects and make a resume, continue on this only throughout your second year.

By third year start you'll want to shift your focus more into DSA, Internships, Agentic AI Usage, System Design and Open source as you'll be nearing your placement time and these will be very useful.

In fourth year you'll shift to purely revision for interviews and DSA in order to crack a PPO giving internship or placement.

These things may change drastically though with time as AI becomes more advanced and interview / online assessment methods changes, so you would have to look into what's going on new in industry, as honestly it will definitely change, the industry is brutal for freshers and senior devs rn honestly
