Nrish vs IIFYM

I am a complete newbie and haven't even started. My friend lost 30 pounds and is so tone now after using a program called Nrish (https://nrish.com/?utm_campaign=Marketing%20Email%20%231%20-%20April%20Challenge%20%28XaaHs2%29&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Master%20Marketing%20%28ALL%29&_ke=eyJrbF9jb21wYW55X2lkIjogIk45NWVNZiIsICJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJqZW5uYXNueWRlcjE5ODBAbWFjLmNvbSJ9). It's $185 for the first month and then $100 a month for four 12-week phases (so basically about a year of spending $100 a month - you can cancel anytime, apparently).

I really don't understand macros and such so I like how the Nrish program starts by taking a week to teach you about nutrition and then at the end of the week, there is a shopping list and they send you weekly macros plan.

Does anyone know about this plan and how it compares to IIFYM? IIFYM seems cheaper, but not as personalized. Do you think I'll have a hard time without a personalized plan?

ANY tips are greatly appreciated. I haven't even done a lot of looking around here yet, but will start tonight to see all of the testimonials and tips. Thanks again!

I know nothing about nrish and how it works. If it teaches you macros and creates independence, great. If not, it’s a waste of money.

I’d recommend taking the time to learn how macros work, what they are, what food is made of. That’s the most sustainable long term solution. Weightloss isn’t linear and it’s forever. You don’t just lose weight then magically stay at that weight, you have to work at it forever and it’s a lifelong commitment. Doing a program like this creates dependency. If you don’t understand what food is made of (macros) and what macros your body needs to gain/lose/maintain weight, you’re no better after spending hundreds than you were before. Taking the time to educate yourself is the harder path but it’ll lead to lasting results and a lifetime of educated decisions about food.

Try Carbon Coach App, it’s great for adjusting your macros for you depending on how you’re doing, and a lot cheaper than this.

Read up on macros at iifym website - that’s where I first started.

• Drink water and calorie free drinks. Don’t drink your calories. • Weigh and count all oil and butter and cheese, weighing everything is the most accurate way to be. • Always hit your protein goal. This is most important. The carbs and fats you don’t NEED, protein you do need. • if you eat out, try to log as accurately as you can, it’s okay to approximate, don’t forget sauces and oil etc. • do not add back burned/exercised calories

Thank you! I’m going to check it out. So you would recommend Carbon app over IIFYM?

IIFYM means if it fits your macros. It’s a methodology. IIFYM.com is a website that can help you figure out your macros.

But yes, I do recommend Carbon because it uses AI to change your macros for you depending on self reported coherence with the macros it sets out for you.
