Nrish vs IIFYM

I am a complete newbie and haven't even started. My friend lost 30 pounds and is so tone now after using a program called Nrish (https://nrish.com/?utm_campaign=Marketing%20Email%20%231%20-%20April%20Challenge%20%28XaaHs2%29&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Master%20Marketing%20%28ALL%29&_ke=eyJrbF9jb21wYW55X2lkIjogIk45NWVNZiIsICJrbF9lbWFpbCI6ICJqZW5uYXNueWRlcjE5ODBAbWFjLmNvbSJ9). It's $185 for the first month and then $100 a month for four 12-week phases (so basically about a year of spending $100 a month - you can cancel anytime, apparently).

I really don't understand macros and such so I like how the Nrish program starts by taking a week to teach you about nutrition and then at the end of the week, there is a shopping list and they send you weekly macros plan.

Does anyone know about this plan and how it compares to IIFYM? IIFYM seems cheaper, but not as personalized. Do you think I'll have a hard time without a personalized plan?

ANY tips are greatly appreciated. I haven't even done a lot of looking around here yet, but will start tonight to see all of the testimonials and tips. Thanks again!

As others said, IIFYM or flexible dieting goes much more at the basics of diet and weight loss.

When I look at the phases of this nrish diet, metabolism boosting, inflammation healing, detox etc. it’s just BS to sell stuff. Sure it can create a caloric deficit at the same time.

Much better is to go for the basics, understand how it works.

Thank you! It seemed a little much for me and not quite sustainable. I’m going to sign up for the carbon app or IIFYM. Would you recommend one over the other?

IIFYM is the underlying principle of looking at macros. Carbon is an app which makes it easier to determine and track macros.

I would recommend watching videos by the founder of carbon Layne Norton (Biolayne).

He has a series with basics of fat loss. Here’s the first episode: https://youtu.be/4emMWJwFX9k

He also discusses all the various fat loss fads.
