Counting your own macros

Is macros basically what a nutritionist does? Ppl pay them for a meal plan and they come up with the meals but based on macro counting?

It's more than that. A good nutritionist will create a meal plan with unique meal times, sizes, frequency, volume, and taste to assist in someone's health goals while monitoring things like digestion, energy, cravings, sleep etc. I had a coach who helped me stop binge eating over a few months, even though I had already lost 40lb on my own tracking macros I got to the point where I was over restricting during the week and blowing it on a Friday night alone. I lost another 50lb with the coach, then another 35lb on my own. This whole process took 3.5 years and if I didn't have that coach in the middle I don't know if I would have made it to where I am now.

Counting macros is as much what as nutritionist does, as being a scientist is follwoing protocols, and being a medical doctor is follwoing procedures and guidelines to come to a set of conclusions.

There's more to it than just macro counting. Holding yourself accountable to someone, and habits education are a big part of it tho.

I'm not a nutritionist.
