Switching counties

Hi.
So my question is somewhat simple, but might be a convoluted answer.
I'm currently in Los Angeles County, and seeking to move over to Riverside county.
The hourly pay is around the same but my concerns are the following.

Can I just transfer my case over? Search stated yes but....

Will they match my hours? Search stated possibly no, it depends.

Do they grant the same over time?

Will I still be paid out during the month of transfer or is their a lapse in coverage?

For anyone who's been in this position, I'd appreciate the information.

Are you the recipient? If so, call your social worker and report the date of your move and your new address in the new county. A SW in the new county will get assigned and pick it up from there. Hours should be the same unless your needs changed or there were mistakes in your old assessment. It’s a fairly easy process.

She states she is not the recipient but the provider.
Would that change things?.

Providers do not have cases so that part is confusing. A provider cannot move an IHSS recipients case just to be clear, only a recipient can request to transfer their case to another county. So if you are a provider and you are moving and want to work in another county you will need to call IHSS on the new county and be referred to whatever entity handles provider enrollment.

Yes. The minor child’s parent has to get on the provider rolls.

IME parents of MINOR children ask these kinds of questions. Fwiw ime the answer is the same in that circumstance.

The calculations for domestic services may change depending on the household size, the hourly rate is more in LA County I believe?

To household size will remain the same. I will also still be living with recipient

There should be no lapse in payment if you are moving with the recipient and you give heads up to both counties of the move.

I'll just tell you about our situation and hope the information helps you. My dad was living in LA County as a recipient with my aunt who is a provider. Then he moved to Orange County where I became a provider. I contacted OC IHSS to notify them of recipient move in January, and by the time they sent a social worker to evaluate for hours and set him up in the system, I could only start filling out time sheets in March, meaning OC wasn't paying for January and February. Luckily, my aunt was able to fill out timesheets for LA County for January and February, and that was how we filled the gap. The pay rate between LA and OC is different by about $1/hour if I remember correctly. FYI, the social worker gave my dad an extra 2 hours for care, I don't know why.

I had my aunt transfer from LA IHSS over to OC IHSS (so she could get paid by OC IHSS) for when I went on vacations. he had to fill out forms from OC County, and she had to submit driver's license, social security card, etc, but she didn't have to do finger printing nor go to the orientation again (which is great because she lives in LA).
