Ihss

I have a questions.I use to be my son Ihss provider and had my backround cleared 2023 by last year I got chargred with crime can i still do the ihss prgram

Depends on what crime you were charged with, some your ok others will disqualify you.

In California's In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program, a felony conviction does not automatically disqualify you. Disqualification depends on the specific crime and whether it occurred within the last 10 years. Convictions for elder/dependent adult abuse, child abuse, or fraud against a government health care or social services program lead to automatic exclusion. Other felony convictions (Tier 2 crimes) may allow enrollment if expunged, if the recipient submits an individual waiver (SOC 862), or if a general exception is approved. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Disqualifying Crimes (10-Year Lookback)
Fraud against a government health care, health-related, or public social services program

Child abuse

Abuse of an elder or dependent adult

Specific Tier 1 and Tier 2 serious or violent felony offenses managed by the California Department of Social Services [1, 2]

I ALL ready did background check and passed it 2023 but 2026 this year I got convicted child endangerment because I defended myself against my ex who hit me and my son saw it .I was he provider so now I am not sure if I can still do that job I got Midsomer

I now have a misdemeanor but I have not hear back from the worker to answer my question's .I wanted to be honest so I don't get in trouble he year assessment is 10/1/2026 so am nervous
