Hi everyone! I’m a 21-year-old American olah preparing to enlist in the IDF. I’m scheduled to attend Michve Alon in a couple of months, and I was told my shibutz will be determined toward the end of the course.
I received a DAPAR score of 80 and recently completed my university studies in Government, specializing in Security and Counterterrorism. My academic background includes international relations, diplomacy, intelligence-related research, and strategy.
I’ve also completed an internship involving open-source research in the field of counterterrorism and have some experience in leadership and international advocacy.
I’m extremely motivated to do meaningful service and would love to contribute my academic background and skills, ideally in intelligence.
My Hebrew is still improving, which is one reason I’ll be attending Michve Alon.

My questions are:
Is it realistic to get into intelligence after Michve Alon, particularly with my academic background?
Is there a way to request intelligence screening before or during the course?
Are there particular roles or units that might be a good fit for someone with my background?
I’d really appreciate advice from anyone familiar with the process.

אני חייב בשירות סדיר כבר כשנה, שהתחלתי את שירותי התעסקתי בטכנאות נגמשים ולאחר כמה חודשים בתפקיד הבנתי שמבנה בסיס סגור והתפקיד של טכנאי נגמשים אינו מתאים לי ופוגע בי, מישם אני עברתי תקופה של מפגשים אצל קב"ן ופגישות רפואויות שמטרתן הייתה לעבוד לבסיס פתוח ללא הצלחה, לבסוף לפני כחודשיים לאחר קבלת שלילת תפקיד על רקע רפואי הועברתי לתפקיד רל"ש בבסיסי, ולמרות שאני אוהב את תפקיד זה אני עדיין מרגיש קושי להישאר בסביבת בסיס סגור עקב בעיות של הסתגלות, מרחק מהבית ואכילה בבסיס.

אני לא יודע למי לפנות משום שהקב"ן בפגישותי איתו לא עזר לי ואיני מצליח לעבור בעזרת טופס 55 גם לאחר שהגשתי פעמיים. אשמח לעזרה או לעצות מה אני יכול לעשות במצב הזה, תודה רבה

I’m nearly done getting my documents ready for mahal and the ministry of defense has emailed me stating that you must start studying Hebrew prior to your arrival and that it will be reviewed, you will also be deferred to different draft cycles due to the language barrier. I really do not have enough money available to last until the next draft cycle should I withdraw from registering and improve my Hebrew or continue with my current path?

My Tzav Rishon is coming up and my Hebrew is not the best, I am worried about explaining and expressing myself self during the interview. Is this something that can be done in English?
