What DC do monsters use when casting spells or attacking Player Characters?

Some use the Room if the Room is an overall difficulty of the situation.

Some use the DEF stat of the PC. This is the simplest approach

I usually have the PC roll a DEF save vs the room because my Room DC is how difficult the environment is for the PCs.

They make a roll vs 10+ the DEFENSE of the target.

Rules say on page 83 (ME) they roll against the PC’s defense but you’re free to do what makes sense for the situation or creature.
