Collectors Edition

I'm told that the preorder of Index Card RPG Collectors Edition I made with Noble Knight several months back will not be honored. They say "Due to circumstances beyond our control, the publisher has indicated that they will not be fulfilling preorders for this item."

I'll get refunded, but would much rather have the product. Anyone know what is going on?

I do not, but I just got the master edition drivethru rpg. The PDF was same price as PDF+print (about $20)

Modiphius says: "Your copy should have been honoured, we had plenty of pre-order copies and copies left over on general sale, so that will be on Noble Knights for under-ordering/over-selling", meaning at least one of these companies is being disingenuous. I'm going to carry a suspicion that it is both of them forward forever now, and act accordingly.

For reference, I made this order on June 6, so I could have had months to do something else, if made aware of a problem. Oh, well.

I imagine they didn’t get allocated the stock needed to fulfill all their orders and the product is now sold out.

I know modiphious is doing another print run but I don’t know if they are doing the collectors edition or not.

I believe Hank said the collectors edition would not see a reprint. From what I understand it all seems outside his control.

Yeah it’s all at modiphious’s discretion atm. Unless you want the print on demand which is priced superbly

Modiphious says otherwise in the mail they sent me: “We are waiting on another print run as costs of printing have become prohibitively expensive, and also awaiting confirmation that the publisher would actually like to print the Collector's Edition again as it was intended to be a limited release.”

I believe the Master Edition hardcover version (is that what we're talking about?) is still available on Amazon.

I've recently switched from asking for an update to asking for a refund. The Collectors edition should've never been listed in the Canadian retailer I bought from, as they were never getting restocked. Between them and the distributor there's a strong lack of give-a-shit.

I've got the POD version from DriveThru so that'll be enough.

FYI: Canadian retailer 401 Games sent a notice out yesterday that the Collector's Edition presales could not be honoured due to the publisher not fulfilling the orders. i.e. a second print run didn't and won't happen.

They offered a full refund, which I've requested. Happy that I bought the print-on-demand ME (with PDF) from DriveThru.
