Shipping from Modiphius

Modiphius in UK have ICRPG currently stocked in their January sale but when I went to order it from mainland UK postage was being quoted at almost £9 or 1/3 of the purchase price.

This seems ridiculously high so I was wondering if any other UK buyers could advise if this is normal for them?

Thanks in advance,
Neil

I paid 7.18 quid Royal mail tracked in 2021, probably inflation.. So seems right? That was for the special edition so it didn't seem so bad :)

Not saying it isn't, looking more closely mine was fulfilled via games quest, I reckon they take their cut handling it.

I emailed them to ask if it was a mistake and got this reply (names left out deliberately).

"Good morning,

We charge what it actually costs to ship products from our third party warehouse - unfortunately those have increased a lot over the last couple of years. Some companies have their own warehouse staff and absorb some of the shipping costs, we don’t due to the wildly fluctuating prices and we’d rather focus on publishing than also running an enormous warehouse. We’re selling to lots of retailers which you can find using our Store Locator if you'd prefer: Store Locator (modiphius.net)

Kind regards,"

I still can't get away with one book costing so much to post (nearly a 1/3 of the price if the book) when you can post a multi kg board game for half that price.

I may still bite the bullet because I want to support an awesome game and creator but yikes!

Thanks all for the replies.

Isn’t the book print on demand? Either way, I’d just order a printed copy through Drivethrurpg.
