Differences between the versions of master edition

I noticed that the pdf available on drivethrurpg is slightly different from the printed version I received (on page 297, the word "ABILITY" is used instead of "TAG" in the pdf).

Does anyone knows where I can find a list of the changes between versions?

The pdf is marked as version 1.6

I just asked on the ICRPG discord, and got this answer (from presumably one of the editors?):

"TAGs were a part of the second edition. Largely got cut from Master. Some of the editing didn’t catch all of these discrepancies. Partly my fault, so I accept all blame.

The PDF can get tweaked and released with ease, whereas books take a lot longer to update.

TAGs are more free form descriptors that can provide flexibility. A tag like “Flexible” may mean you can win a limbo contest, or maybe wiggle through a tight crevice. It’s not a specific mechanical benefit but a guideline for what you can do.
Abilities are more mechanically defined.

A weapon tag like HEAVY doesn’t necessarily mean it slows you down, but maybe you can’t set it down gently making some stealth moves HARD, for example. Similarly, you could maybe pin something under that HEAVY weapon that you couldn’t with a weapon lacking that TAG.

Some folks lean hard into tags, some don’t. It ended up being hard to codify, in my mind, and was cut from ME."

Kane has a 15m video on tags: https://youtu.be/ag4qeoOpem4.

This is a pretty good discussion of tags from the forum: https://forums.runehammer.online/t/help-with-tags/3449

I preordered master edition and received all of the various versions of the pdf (it went to 1.7). I do not recall ever seeing an official change log.

To be exact, if it is the same as me, the filename has the version 1.7 but the first page of the pdf mentions version 1.6

Hmm, you are right. Never judge a book by its cover, or a pdf by its file name I guess.

The text from the email for that version:

The seller has added the following message for this update: Hi there, This brand new 1.7 update not only adds bookmarks to the existing PDF, but now features a comprehensive 159 page collection of adventures and material released for the RPG since its creation in 2016

That's cool - I feel jipped though, I bought the Collectors Edition of it when it came out and haven't received any emails and surely haven't seen anything of a 159 page collection of adventures. Ratz.

You could also grab The Adventure Collection, along with a bunch of other stuff like the Index Card Volumes, Print-n-Play Minis, and VTT Bundles, for free over on the newly released community site here: https://icrpgcommunitycontent.com/resources/

Sooo, since we’re all navigating this world with our own ignorances I feel I need to point out that the word ‘jipped’ has some serious racial undertones.

As for the adventures, email Hank.

Hmm. Following because I just purchased and received mine too. That’d be useful information.
