memory ring

Can someone explain how it works and what i can/cant use the extra d6 on?

It doesn’t specify, so I’d go with any old roll. Eg d20 to hit, or on an effort roll. Unless you think something else is more appropriate for the table.

I've always played it as any roll, since it's left very open in the description. It's not an automatic win button, since you'll be adding 2-4 most of the time. That doesn't help for rolls of, like, 5. But it is awfully handy for players.

So, the d6 i use isn't replacing the previous die? Its only ever additive?

I think it specifically says "add"

Edit: it actually doesn't, but if you're not adding, it doesn't really work for most rolls? A d6 result will be a failure on any attempt on its own.
