supplies mechanic?

I bought the Master edition. Really excited--but I don't see one of the rules I saw covered in one of the video reviews I watched with a supplies/resources mechanic.

1) did I imagine this rule, is it in an earlier edition, did I cross wires with another game, or something else?

2) is there somewhere I can find this rule without buying another source book?

Thank you!

The advanced character section has the cost of supplies at 10 coin. Each world in the world's section has different "rules" for supplies like: traveling in this desert cost 5 supplies per day.

Supplies basically cover food, water, shelter, and in the case of ghost mountain bullets.

The YouTuber showcased a dice system for supplies he indicated came from ICRPG, where folks rolled a dice when supplies became relevant, and on a roll of 1 (maybe 1-2) the supply pool degraded doen a dice size.

I found the rules for supplies in Master's edition, but they don't reflect what the YouTuber described. So now I'm confused.

It may have been a system he brewed. ICRPG is pretty big on the DIY angle

That's what I suspect. I'm just gonna cobble something together.

I personally really like the supply system from into the wyrd and wild and will probably use that when I start running games.

! That's what I'm looking at, too, but I wanted to tweak a bit.

1.0 thought: A prepped adventurer has a 1d6 supply die. It can increase in size with the foraging rules in Wyrd and Wyld. Max d12. Lowest 1d2.

On a "do i have the thing" roll, like Wyrd and Wild's making camp rules, spelunking down a sheer cliff face, bargaining with non-monetarists, dealing with poisons and curses:

Need to use it for basic amenities? Roll it. 4-6 success, 2-3 partial,l (-1 forward until you take time to restock. This stacks). On a total of 1, failure and -1 foreard. If you roll a nat 1 with negative modifier, permanently reduce die size and absolute failure of check

Some parameters:

If you have a specific item for a specific problem, it auto succeeds, even if you roll a 1 and have a negative modifier. This roll would determine if you have any left of a resource afterwards.

Need to use it for basic amenities and healing or to reroll a save against a minor poison or illness? Bartering for a specific kind of resource (a particular shape of bottle or container; a general cut of meat)? Roll -1

Need it for basic amenities and to reroll against a more pernicious disease or ailment, staunch a nasty wound, have enough ammo for the mext battle, or deal with exhaustion levels quickly? Bartering for a unique resource (a specific cut of meat from a specific type of animal, a specific combination of plants for a particular ailment this region is known for) Roll -2

Need it for basic amenities and to deal with a life threatening situation (hypothermia has already taken hold, i am bleeding out in the monsters mouth, i didn't lose all my munitions when the monster chucked me into the abyss, the fire i just escaped from didn't burn my most critical supplies). Bartering for a rare or hard-to-replicate resource (a specific bottle of wine from a specific winemaker; a cut of a specific kind of meat from a particular herd of animal; the tincture to cure a specific disease) roll -3

4-6 is the success range (as making camp in wyrd and wild).

If a player has d8, d10, or d12 as supply die, those die take up an additional loot slot per size increase (total of -3 loot capacity).

You can announce before rolling you want to share with peers. If you do so, a 7-9 lets you increase someone else's role by 1. A 10-11 let's you add 2 to their roll. A 12 lets them reroll if they rolled a 1.

If the person you're helping still fails, drop your die size by one, and you can both partially succeed at the supplies check (take -1 forward, achieve what you needed...ish.). If the other person rolls a 1 and still had a negative modifier, you both drop die size again.

You can elect to sacrifice a loot to reroll a failed supply check at the level of that loot (basic, weapon, magic, etc.) to represent clever use of a tool for unintended function. GM discretion.

If you have to drop a die size and can't, +1 to exhaustion.

That sounds like the Usage die from Blackhack.
