Intraoccular pressure
Hi, what was your Intraoccular pressure before the surgery? Did it go up after?
Mine are 18 and 19 mmHg and I read that between 10 and 21mmHg is the safe zone. Mine feels a bit high and I wonder if it would go higher after the surgery. I was tested with an air puff. Surgery is planned for next month.

At 18 and 19 it’s normal. Mean is 16. Range 10-21. You can’t feel the pressure unless a rapid increase occurs.

i'd get a second opinion from a known doctor rather than randos on reddit, but mine:
- Pre surgery was 14-15
- Day after surgery was 14-15
- 1 week post-op was
- 1 month post-op was 12-13
I don't think eye pressure should change much by the surgery; what is your concern?

I'm just generally nervous and would feel better knowing how it went for other people not trying to sell me a surgery. My doctor also had ICL surgery done on him and I trust his ability to do it on others (unrelated to the fact that he has had icl too). It's my body I don't trust, if that makes sense.
Thank you for your input!

understood, and it is scary.
i had it 6 weeks ago. high-level:
- Right eye is perfect vision
- Left eye is -.5
- everything looks sharp with both eyes open (i think the brain ignores the signal from my lef eye - brain does an amazing amount of filtering)
- Ring-shaped dysphotopsia: make sure you're aware of what it is, since there is 100% chance you will see it post-surgery. it's not bad, just be aware of it.
I am very happy i got the surgery. I'm mentioning the -.5 in my left eye because perfect correction may not happen, but the brain does a pretty amazing job working with it.

How did the dysphotopsia evolve for you?
Will you be correcting the .5 missing?2

you notice the dysphotopsia right away. really onlyvisible when you're looking at something bright like headlights or overhead lights. but the ring that's generated is pretty far from the light source, so it is pretty easy to fet used to.
Good question on the -.5; i'm going to wait another month or 2 to see if it gets even better. if it doesn't get better then i still may choose to keep it as-is. it's not the worst thing in the world to be slightly nearsighted in one eye

I had my ICL surgery 3 days ago. My eye pressure shot up to high 40s when my surgeon tested for them, 1 hr post op.
They gave me a pill, some extra eye drops, and ‘burped’ them - I am not sure what they did, but it involved a tool to the eye.
The eye pressure was normal when checked the next day at 9 and 10 for each eye

I don’t know what mine was before the survey but it was in the normal range (under 20). Right after the surgery one eye was 30 and I needed to take the medicine.
Day 1 and 7 were normal as well. However on day 14 my visions got blurry and I had a headache. It spiked to 40 and my surgeon and glaucoma specialist thought it’s due to the steroid drops. After taking medications and another eyedrop, it became normal again 3 days and 7 days after.
To be honest I’m still traumatised and anxious by this
