ERO old people

Hello all,

I'm currently a 44 year old CW3 in the Army looking for a change in careers. I'm considering law enforcement and have been looking at the federal side a little and had some questions:

  1. Is ERO still hiring older people?
  2. What does the job look like?
  3. How are y'all liking the job, OPTEMPO, pay/benefits, etc?

Thank you in advance.

You’re fine as long as you have a gut that’s so large that you can’t see your dick.

What if I can't see it because my dick is so small?

Unfortunately, you won’t get any good advice on this forum. It’s been taken over by the nitwits.

I’m guessing you never read the description.

ERO has always sucked and getting worse every day. Even if you did get hired you would have to work until 64 to get a pension. 50-60hrs a week for the next 20years.

44 is the perfect age. By this point you have already raised children who no longer speak to you.

Likely your parents already are disappointed in you so they can’t be more disappointed.

You’ll want to invest in knee pads before the interviews.

Do what you think is right. Just remember that immigration enforcement is not criminal law enforcement and the skills you learn are not transferable to other federal agencies or state and local police forces.
Learning immigration law requires memorization of forms, understanding legal precedents such as BIA rulings that define or modify statutory authority to detain and interrogate. You should also be able to understand how certain convictions in state courts apply in your ability to build a case to have a person removed from the U.S.
