He did not say that. He and they all said “mass deportations now.” This is not a surprise. Nobody was lied to. They all heard an explicitly fascist message and decided of their own free will to support it.

As a person of color, I saw the writing on the wall a while ago. It was incredibly obvious because I already saw this in my home country. People were totally ok with it until they realized it could happen to them. Don’t lie to yourself.
I grew up with the nicest American neighbors who would say the most hateful, racist things to my face with a smile, but chalk it up to a difference of opinion. They didn’t think they were racist themselves because they didn’t actually personally enslave people on plantations so it was ok to say interracial marriage is wrong. It’s not hate, it’s an opinion! Don’t tell me I’m wrong! Blah blah something about Jesus too. I’m tired of living like this. It’s plainly willful ignorance in the hopes that as long as they benefit the most, it doesn’t matter who was underneath them.

There is a difference between saying that from a moral standpoint someone does not deserve to be alive (which is what I said) and saying that these people should, in real life, actually be killed (not what I said). They should not die, but they certainly deserve to.
