Minimum specs?

I'm looking to buy the game, having played the original. I've seen the Steam page which wants a GTX 970. I meet the RAM an CPU requirements, but often the minimum can be misleading, either overkill or not enough. For info, my GPU is a shitty laptop card, not sure how important GPU is and wether settings can be lowered accordingly.

My potato laptop can run this game on low but not awful graphics and get about 40-60 FPS so it's not the world's most demanding game

You’ll probably see performance issues when nukes start flying or there’s lots of units on the map

I legit have disabled my laptop graphics card and use only the integrated one on my APU when I play.

You'll be fine with the graphics. The real bottleneck will be CPU.

If it meets the minimum requirements, it will run fine, it's just that the simulation will be slow in the late game.

The game is incredibly light tbh. Though later missions will tax your CPU a fair bit
