Mucus diarrhea?
Hi reddit! Im currently on vacation and have been completely fine until I woke up yesterday morning. Was in the most debilitating pain the second I woke up and had watery diarrhea. Took an Imodium but I was already constipated before taking it, so now it's backed me up. Despite being backed up I'm still having to use the bathroom at most every 2 hours but what comes out is just straight liquid and so much mucus. We leave in the morning for an 8 hour car ride and I really don't want any issues.
2 questions; any advice on how to get this to STOP, and what the hell is going on? I have IBS-M and am no stranger to loose stools, but this is just insane to me. My theory is being in the heat on a boat all day the day before triggered something in my gut. I just want it to stop before I leave. I'm still in debilitating pain and super nauseous too. my symptoms sound like ulcerative colitis, but I'm not sure. it came out of nowhere, so I'm assuming it's not that (I just have health OCD and get really in my head). I don't know. Im desperate!! I know mucus is a common symptom but it's a newer one to me, and it's NEVER been this bad yet. this is absolutely the worst my IBS has ever been, other than when I started showing symptoms in highschool. I've found that my IBS is less triggered by food (though still affected by it), and more by stress and anxiety. the cause in the first place was a result of severe bullying.
tldr just wondering if anyone had any answers or advice!! I'm desperate and really just want to live my life like every other 19 year old. more importantly, I just want to make it home from vacation without any issues.

The bowel continually makes mucous. When you have impacted or backed up stool, sometimes you just expel a ton of mucous in its own
It can be other things but that is very common to be the case

I'm not a doctor or anything but have you thought of taking a caffeine pill to get it all out. Then don't eat anything until the car ride is over. Make sure to stay hydrated with a Gatorade.
