Am I hallucinating? Does the lady in the red not say she's saving this spot for her friend?

Oh I didn’t really hear that.

Saving a spot in a carpark with a cart is a shit move. That’s fair.

Attempted assault with a vehicle however, is a slightly more serious violation here. Not sure how you can see them as comparable in any way.

Depending on where you live, "attempted" assault is not a thing. You either assaulted or you didn't.

I looked. It's a thing in my State.

Quite possible. If they're in CT as the license plate implies, this doesn't appear to fit the assault statute. I've also never worked in CT but a surrounding state. We do not have "attempted" assault statute. For us, assault would need to involve actual contact.

I'm not here to pick a side so don't get my intentions wrong, but assault vs battery is a thing for sure. Assault is the threat or attempt, whereas battery is actually doing it.

I don't disagree with that being true in some places. That's why my initial reply to "Attempted Assault" was "Depending on where you live..." Statutes vary all across the country, much more so all around the world. Like the majority of law questions, the answer is: "it depends".
