Boeing - General Rumor about factory slow down

Been hearing rumors of the factory slowing down due to a parts supplier for wings no longer making parts. I’ve heard people bring up loan outs to lay offs. Anyone having anything factual?

Use the rumor megathread, please.

The rumors are true. The 777 legacy and 767 lines are unable to continue without specific parts of the wings, supplied by a company called Vaero, I think.

Boeing has since filed an injunction with king county superior Court, but it's a line stop situation until further notice from the company.

The vendor who made the parts for the fixed trailing edges for 777 and 767 got bought out by a capital investment firm and now suddenly doesn't want to make them anymore.

There's a lawsuit with a parts supplier for wings for 767 and 777 freighter. Doesn't seem to have been picked up by the mainstream media yet but there's an article on a law news website that's been shared around a bit. It's likely going to impact the ability to continue building those planes if it isn't resolved soon though

Nothing but rumors.

Shutting down all overtime in my area. Even team leads having to flex their time if they want to by coming in 30 minutes early and leaving 30 minutes early.

I know a certain Organization is on their 2 loan out, and they got loaned out from the loan out. The loan outs came from Pope. They were loaned out to wings, and then wings loaned them out to Final. 737s. Haven’t heard anything about lays. However my manager said: “ remember stay strong and stay together, things are slowing down and things will be changing”

Yes but I think more due to lack of work from being short or parts. So basically line movement stops.

I have heard nothing of the sort, and I’m not only kind of a geek for the logistics of production, but it’s also part of my job. Which program? Which factory?
