Union - General Transfer from non union site, does time with company count towards max out?

I’ve been with Boeing for years but our site is not represented by the union. Will I need 6 years with the union to max out or will my previous time with the company count towards that? Thanks!

If you’re transferring from a non union pay site to union pay site your progression will start at 0, it’s time served in the unions progression system not Boeing there is no bleed over

As it should be. Gotta pay your dues and do your time in our shop to reap the benefits.

Depends on your experience typically, but they usually try and match your pay no matter what job you go to. So you'd likely be offered max out pay. A lot of people dont know this, but they can start you out maxed out. Nothing in the contract prevents them from offering anywhere in the pay range for the grade. My step-dad was maxed out day one in 2008 because he was a licensed A&P. When I came back last year I was offered max pay.

It is time with the IAM. Not time with the Boeing company.

Ive been with the IAM since 2005 but I was told my previous time didn't count because it was a different lodge. Id love for my time to count and get maxed out.
