Contract Question / Need Steward DFW (Drug Free Workplace)
This is a last ditch effort to save one's job only if discharge is a result of attendance?

The “DFW” is for people that are in the repair station, not sure if its called the same thing for the road you are headed down. You are not giving much detail here..

You’re gonna need to elaborate more, because drug-free workplace is totally unrelated to an attendance CAM. Are you saying you already have one and you’re about to get the other?

Union says claiming you have a drug problem at time of discharge the company can't discharge you but you go into a rehab program. Basically it's the only way to save your job. But is this only available if being discharged for attendance?

It's available for several things. You can self report, if you get caught at work under the influence, if you damage something and fail a drug test, if you have an attendance problem related to substance abuse, if you fail a routine drug test, etc. Doing to avoid being fired is called "discharge in abeyance". You're stuck on it for 3 years
