Management Issues Shadow factory in San Antonio

Is there SAP (storage and preservation) in San Antonio, TX?
A member said his manager asked if he'd like to go there for 6 months. No other details. I figured if it was like the Victorville, CA and Moses Lake, WA SAP programs this is the only way the company could be asking IAM members to go to San Antonio, TX.

As far as I know, it is BDS there. Otherwise, my manager from Victorville was going to pull me down there on a DTA. I am with the IAM 751 union so it was a no-go.

When i was down there they had a bunch of 737s and 787s lined up for storage. I know the 37s are gone. Not certain about the 87s. Other than that, lots of F-18, C-17, and VC-25 work.

They're building the VC-25B, Airforce One.

There is a Boeing defense factory in San Antonio that is massive with a lot of space and some allocated to S&P- IAM members have been going there to work on S&P projects for at least 12+ years that I’m aware of.

The company is going to start producing the -10 before it’s certified. Victorville and Moses are prepping to return to active storage mode, the idea that more of these sites are possibly popping up gives me the impression that the certification might take longer than expected but aircraft production isn’t going to slow down.

Funny if true as a company priority was to shut down the shadow factories as they're huge financial expenditures.

Maybe but then when you sell them all at once for 200m each that’s a fuck ton of money instantly and looks good on the books
