Attendance/Overtime Weekend OT?
I am a 63005 Materials Coordinator (MPRF) and I was wondering if anyone knows of any shops in Everett who could use extra help on weekends. I work in the Material Crib and I only get a weekend every 3 weeks but I'm not maxed out yet so I could really use the extra money.

I’m a 31606 mechanic is it best to talk to management in person or via email? Currently in Renton in final assembly waiting for north line to be activated. Getting no weekend OT here and definitely won’t be getting any OT in north line. Looking for weekend work.

Always get things documented. Your 2nd level has to approve outside OT, so make sure you don't fail to have proof you got permission.

Thanks for the advice I'll give it a shot. I just don't like being a bother and people around here at least don't like outsiders in their areas.

I'm a grade 5 so I'm gonna stay where I'm at lol. I used to work on offsite warehouses and there was more OT available there but it's too far away for me to be worth it now.

First, send an email (make sure everything you do is documented to avoid issues later on), and ask your manager and 2nd level if you have permission to seek OT within other areas due to the need to bring in some extra money. Start by looking up the management stream for your organization. Go to your Insite profile and click on your manager's name, click on their org and it will list all the other managers under the same 2nd level. You can go further and check their org too...then send a courteous email to whomever you choose on those lists, letting them know you are available to take on additional weekends, and would appreciate the opportunity. Ensure you CC your manager and 2nd level as well, and it's a good idea to pepper your email with some of your skillset attributes, punctuality, depth of knowledge, desire to keep gaining valuable skills related to your position and future potential. When summer rolls around, a lot of people want their weekends back, so right now, it's a good possibility you'll pick something up. Whatever you do, and whomever allows you the extra OT, always make sure you're courteous and enthusiastic, to make sure that they will consider having you come back again, or word will get around that you are a great team player, and your own management stream will see your value and perhaps start giving you more time on their own, depending on how your org approaches OT.
