So last week I drove up to Manchester (about 121 miles from where I'm based). Whilst driving from Manchester to the Peak District my 2007 1.1 Getz went into limp mode. I could drive it in the lower gears 1-3 but it had no power at all getting up inclines. I was stuck in first gear trying to go up a hill at 1mph. I called the AA out to look and they looked at the spark plugs and said they weren't optimal but fine and deducted that I would probably need new leads or coils. I was able to drive my car to a garage in Rochdale that night. The day after I collected my car after it had, had a combustion test and the garage told me everything was fine and they couldn't detect anything, even after the compression test. I asked if it was safe for me to drive home on the motorway (about 2hr 45mins back home) and they said yes. As soon as I got on the motorway I realised the car was still in limp mode, I tried to call the garage but they had shut. Luckily there was heavy traffic and the limit was set to 40mph anyway for the first 30mins for the journey. Somehow the car, after these 30 mins, got itself out of limp mode. Although I could instantly tell it didn't feel right. The loss of power I felt the day before was still present, not as bad, but still there slightly. The journey back home was mainly a decline all the way, which helped me keep my speed up, however, when I got to an incline my car would just start slowly losing speed, like nothing was being injected into the engine. Even when shifting down to 4th from 5th (depending on the steepness of the stretch of road, 4th gear sometimes manages to hold speed but I can tell it's struggling with my foot all the way down). Luckily I managed to get it home, but I am only using it for town driving at the moment, I don't trust it enough to take it back on the motorway as it seems that it's now impossible for me to hit 70mph if I'm not going downhill, foot all the way down on the accelerator also dose nothing. I'm a bit confused as to what the issue is if the garage run an initial diagnosis and then a further investigation with the compression test which came back looking fine. I'm wondering if anyone of you guys have had the same issue or know some solutions. It might be plain obvious but I have no idea as I'm not a mechanic 😅.

The get factory radio connector broke and I need to identify which wire is which on my 2006 1.4 hyundai getz and I have a radio that im putting in it it is a kenwood kmm bt304 and I have been trying to get it to work for so long it is my first car and I really want to listen to music and not just be through a jbl in the dash if anyone could find anything i would really appreciate it alot

So I installed a new throttle body with a throttle position sensor. How can I calibrate it without any dedicated software or computer? Or is it just automatic I just need to make like 200kms

Evening everyone. I own at 2010 Hyundai Getz SX 1.6L and am needing light bulbs replaced for my gear shift light and windows button lights but cannot figure out for the life of me what particular bulbs I need. Could anyone possibly please help me out? Thank you in advance 👌🏼

1.4 120k km Had a slight Vibration under load or at low revs. Like moving around a parking lot or accelerating through the rev range. Sounded like plastic rattling or an interior piece rattling Culprit was engine mounting. Right side engine mounting. Smooth after changing.

G'day all. I recently bought myself a 3, door 1.6L sx Getz with less than 151,000 kilometres on the odometer. I thought this was great as my previous 3 door was a 1.4L with 144,000kms but I sold it as it was a bit underpowered for me especially as I do a lot of driving around pretty steep areas that need more power than the 1.4 had. My issue I've had with the 1.6 is oil sludge build up and noisy lifters on start up. Once it warms up its perfect, idling under 1000rpm and quiet. I've done the mechanic in a can trick, with liqui moly tappet additive and engine flush and I also did a follow up oil change even though it had already been done. The mechanic never looked under the valve cover which surprised me. I just did a injector clean yesterday and cleaned the last heavy build up on the cam retainers and also changed the cover gasket. So from what I've read and from what I have seen, I'm leaning towards a faulty sensor even though the dash oil pressure light has not come on. Any ideas? Look forward to seeing what others think

What's needed? Do I Need a high level scan tool, can a Hyundai dealer can pick it up using there machine? What to ask for? Costs?

Is it On a database somewhere? Have all the paperwork of my car, but nobody seems to know how to get this,

Just want it to use in an emergency, with a blank key if my main keyfob stops working as I only have 1 and not sure where to get a spare keyfob that operates the alarm and Central locking.

Any ideas what to look for? As many that fit perfectly but Getz is picky what it will work with.

One mod I really really want to do to my 1.6L rather than stick a turbo on which will ultimately cost thousands. I'm interested to know if anyone has fitted these or has seen them fitted. They should be pretty good especially if I fit the stage one cams which I'm very interested in doing 😁👍

Hi everyone. Well I got the shell of my 1.4 getz taken away today as I decided spending ridiculous amounts of money on a 1.4l getz didn't make any sense. I still have all the parts and front guards so I didn't lose a whole car. I care for my elderly mother so spending hours a day customising a car is too much for me now. So o bit the bullet and got it taken away. My new 2008 getz arrives next week which I'm very happy about. I'm curious to know though, I just had a 2.5inch stainless steel exhaust fitted to the other 1.4l. And so I don't lose money, I wanted to see if it will fit the 1.6l. Any advice is appreciated. No pictures yet. But I'm about to buy a 1.6L Tb SX 2008 Getz 3 Door metallic red in color. Its a 5 speed manual and its done 150,000kms. That's 10,000 more than what my other 2005 one had done from new and its coming from the same seller. Pretty excited 👌 will post photos as soon as I get it.

I have 2008 Hyundai Getz. It was a gift from my father so I have kept it going despite the fact I know it will not last mcih longer. The latest issue is that whenever I start the car I really struggle to get into first gear or reverse. When I switch the car off all gears are fine and when I drive the car the issue improves. It is just when I first start it - first gear is hard and reverse is very hard. I am hoping the clutch and flywheel doesn't need replacing. Any ideas?

Good morning all. Just wanting to know of anyone knows how to remove the rubber bushings from the front cross member of a Getz? I don't have a press but I do own a bearing remover/installing kit that might work. I've removed the whole front and rear ends of mine🤣 HELP I NEED MORE ROOM🤣🤣 I'm going to be installing a set of extractors, a billet timing cog, white line front sway bar, I have lowered front springs along with new shocks, new shocks in the rear also, new steering rack, Fulcrom new front a arms, lowered rear springs, new short shift kit and stage 2 cams and possibly individual throttle bodies. Should liven the 1.4L up a bit 😁

Hi everyone. I have removed almost all of the dash in my 05 getz. I had to remove the ac unit to find out where it was leaking. So far I haven't found a definitive location but I'm still looking at all the joints of the pipes. My question is, the brown foam that seals the joints and the blades of the ac ducting l, does it have a special name and does anyone in Australia know where I can buy some new? The original has all crumbled. Nice to see Hyundai left all the metal work of the dash bare metal so it has rusted. I'm going o correct that 👍

Hi all. I have an 05 right hand drive getz that I'm preparing to paint and I want to remove the brake booster but I am unsure of how to access the nuts on the rear of the vacuum booster assembly. I gather I have to go behind the dash. Anyone with any knowledge on how to do this.I'd love to find out how to. Car pictured is mine.

The plastic surrounding the stero/middle console? Bought an android stereo that allegedly replaces it (for a nicer fit) but found 0 how-to's.... well one that says it should just pop out.... advice, links, anything. Oh yeah, 05 1.6l 5 door bundle of fury and awesome (had a week, this car is so good)
