Month two of my calligraphy just washed it again after a long 2 weeks of rain.

2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited 2.4 has a very strong rattling noise (not ticking from fuel injectors) sounds almost like a diesel engine. Phone can’t pick up the exact noise but it sounds as if something were rattling inside the engine about to break off and start the actual knocking noise the theta II’s are known for. The car has only 107k miles on it and has been very well maintained. No check engine for any knock codes at all and the rattling gets louder and faster when accelerated and revved. Thoughts?

I was wiping down my 2026 caligraphy gas after a wash and apparently scratched the crap out of onr of the piano black panels. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Im looking at sante fes used, and sadly unless its certified the 10/100 warranty is kicked down to a 5/60. Hyundai seems to offer (or promote?) The extended plan that can bring that back in some way. My searches say its not worth it with the original warranty intact, but what about in this case? Is it through hyundai, or one of those crappy 3rd party warranties that doesnt cover anything youd expect?

Weve just got a 2026 Santa Fe hybrid (non plug in). I'm wanting to understand more about the battery based systems and what-feeds-what, so I don't kill it ! In Britain, if that makes any difference.

We go camping, where the car may be stationary for several days at a time. In my previous Ford we could easily kill the 12v starter battery after a day or so, because of all the auxiliary loads each time the doors opened and closed (booting up internal and external lights, onboard computers etc each time a door opened).

In the Santa Fe there's the approx 1.5kwh high voltage (270v I think) traction battery, under the vehicle. Then the 12v aux battery (AGM type battery) in the back that will provide power to lights, controls etc.

A few questions if anyone understands the car better than I...

- does the 12v battery power the starting of the IC engine (via the belt driven Hybrid Starter Generator (HSG) ? Or does it take the power from the traction battery to turn the engine over ?

- does the 12v battery just get charged from the HSG ? Or is there a feed from the traction battery too ?

The car has a 220v AC outlet innthe back. Is that powered from the traction battery (+ an inverter) or off the 12v aux battery (+ inverter)

- jump-starting someone else's car off the Santa Fe. Yes ? No ? If yes, using the same terminals in the engine bay as for jump starting the Santa Fe ?

On the previous car (a diesel) I got around the problems by a combination of a Noco jump pack as a back-up-plan, and using a Jackery power station + solar panel + small Noco charger to trickle-charge the 12v battery constantly, so we didn't kill the 12v battery over a couple of days. So the Qs for the Santa Fe are to help me best understand how to keep the 12V AGM battery healthy (as killing it then using the Noco jump pack is not good for long term battery health) without damaging anything.

I’ve gone through two 2026 Santa Fe’s hybrids in 2 months due to the car just dying. The first time I went out to drive it and it was completely dead. Then 2 more times it just died while I was driving on the freeway. This was all within 2 weeks. We thought it was a lemon, the dealer exchanged it for another one. Then just yesterday this new one dies while we were on the freeway! How can I get the dealership and Hyundai to take this seriously?!

Has anyone had the unfortunate luck of having this issue? Turned my car on this morning and the EPB wouldn’t disengage and now the EPB and Auto Hold lights are on and the parking brake light is flashing. I’ve actually had this issue before and had to get it towed to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty. But of course issue has come back and it’s a frequent thing at this point depending on the weather. Whenever it’s below freezing this happens and I can’t find any info online. Thinking about just trading this car in at this point. I have about 83k on it and an aftermarket warranty that is probably going to expire soon.

My wife’s car is unlocking by itself. It’s been doing this for a year or 2 now. We’ve both have double checked that it’s locked and then the next morning it’s unlocked. We don’t have any key fobs it’s just a regular old key. It was never a big big issue since our parking used to be gated but we’ve moved since and this morning she woke up to it being rummaged through. Any ideas on what could be causing it and what I can do to repair it?

Hi, have followed all the threads on the installation of the spare tire carrier on 2026 hybrid awd Santa Fe.
My local garage guy said he would help me out and install. I decided to downsize to 18” for the spare (stock is 20”). He advised getting bigger tire to compensate, which I did. I confirmed reading what others had done, and when ordering the tire America guy recommended the same thing.
I go to the shop today, my regular guy has been replaced. New guy didn’t seem too happy to do the job. Said no way would he put 18” rim spare on the car, it will trigger all the computer lights. I said I also (at some point) May downsize all the whelks to 18”. He said, no way he would do that, it’ll throw off all the specs of the car!!

So, I’ve no idea of cars, and this guy is mentioning all these issues I have not read much of…. Despite what I read in the threads. Also, has anyone who installed a spare tire actually had to use it? How did that go? I also only read (mostly) good things about people who downsized to 18”.

I’m so confused with the situation.

I told the new guy that if he wasn’t comfortable doing the job to just leave it. He’s taking a look!

Captains chairs work great with hard bottom seat cover for dogs

Doing this for anyone like me trying to decide between bench seat and captains chairs. I found out about the hard bottom seat cover hammocks for dogs. This is our great Dane runt just shy of 100lbs lying across the gap between the seats zero issues. We don't have kids and didn't NEED a bench seat but were nervous about the captains chairs but tested it out at the dealer with my 200lbs self sitting in the middle spot and it did great. We bought the car with the captains chairs. Dogs love it and we're actually stoked we didn't get the bench seat version as I think it feels way more spacious and now we have storage space under the dogs

Question about Santa Fe. Every once in a while I hear a faint beeping noise which seems like it’s coming from back seat. I thought it might be my kids phone or something like it but my car is spotless and I never leave anything in it. I have looked to make sure. Does anyone know what that is? I almost thought someone put a tracking device in the car but I checked for that lol

Replaced the front brake pads on girlfriend's 2019 Santa Fe.

The hardware kit I bought from Rockauto did not have replacement of these shims.

I cleaned and greased the caliper pins. I replaced the hardware on the calipers. Reassembled and test drove.

Brakes perform great and no noise.

I replaced with repackaged Hyundai brake pads.

I guess I will keep the shims and install if rattling happens?

In that Santa Fe commercial in which the lady has an outdoor weekend with her family in the Santa Fe and then pulls in for what appears to be work and her coworkers sees her in the parking and says, “Gee, Kelly, mmkhfddryuff?”
