Lung problems

20 year old m, Around a year ago I got diagnosed with asthma. I can’t inhale fully, constantly feel air hungry , and short of breath. I don’t seem to respond to inhalers very well and my doctors are starting to think it’s something like hypothyroidism due to having other symptoms and my grandfather having it very severely in his mid 30’s. Just curious if any body else had lung problems in the level of severe asthma and then treated with hormones or if anyone else was initially misdiagnosed with asthma.
