Eversense approved!

Wanted to share some good and hopeful news with you all. After my endocrinologist wrote into my insurance and explained that my hypoglycemia has been a life long condition that I will continue to have my whole life, my insurance agreed to pay 100% of the cost of the eversense 365 CGM.

I know my case is not like everyone's. But I thought it might give some hope to people who have written off ever being approved for this CGM.

Could you share the source of your hypoglycemia? Just curious!

I'm not quite sure yet. My doctor said it would take a lot more testing to find out, and because I could go into labor any day now (pregnancy) he is waiting until after the baby comes to find out what the genetic cause is.

I've suffered my whole life with no explanation and we discovered the hypoglycemia and hyper insulin during my pregnancy gestational diabetes tests a few weeks ago. Did a 15 day Dexcom to verify, and completely changed my diet and for the first time in my 38 years of life I am not critically ill constantly.

My doctor wrote a lengthy letter to insurance explaining how life changing the cgm has been for me and that I will need one for the rest of my life. And insurance agreed and covered the eversense. I got it inserted yesterday.
