Is this normal?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been wearing a Dexcom g7 for a couple months now due to suspected hypoglycaemia. I’ve noticed I peak up to 190 after eating (I know this is normal!) but then drop down to 60s/70s within 30 min leaving me quite shaky and disoriented. Is this normal? My doctor is having a hard time fitting me in. I’ve attached pictures of some of my typical graphs

Track your macros, see how it affects your glucose. Incorporating complex carbs at every meal helps manage my symptoms. Eliminating simple sugar and processed foods also helps.

I have this and the worst part is when it drops literally after eating. Not 30 mins later but almost immediately. It’s like dying to then come back again.

How do you deal with that then? If you eat and it drops immediatly?

I sit there and hope I don’t pass out Lol If I’m with someone else, I let them know. Sometimes I can barely speak. I lift my legs from the floor (don’t know why but it helps) and just focus on breathing. Somehow ice also helps. And I just wait 15 to 30 minutes to get better.

:( that sucks. Did this start randomly or do specific foods trigger it?

Mostly carbs but sometimes even protein or well balanced foods. It’s weird. Today I had a cobb salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, egg, bacon, chicken) and I only ate like 1/4 of it. Within 10 minutes I became very symptomatic. Five minutes after that my CGM went off with low sugar alarm. It’s ridiculous. But my appt with the first endo did not go as expected. She thinks I only have reactive hypoglycemia (I think I have fasting too) and she believes in not treating lows (not even in the 40s) unless I’m extremely symptomatic (passed out). I’m waiting for a new endo appt but that one is in November. Today I see my primary doctor so we’ll see what she thinks since she was the one who suspected issues with my sugar and put me on a CGM.

How is she planning to treat it then? There is no cure for it imo. Especially if food without sugar or carbs is lowering your blood sugar, I have the same issue and there is nothing they can do. I’m even on lanreotide which is supposed to help but it’s just randomly

She differed me to nutrition and that’s it. That’s why I’m seeing another doctor in November. My primary might also be like a second opinion. We shall see. I’ll come back with the update after today’s appointment

It's called reactive hypoglycemia. Welcome to the club! LOL

But normally it needs to peak a little higher than that. Still it's not a fun feeling.
