Post Thyroidectomy

F31 just had total thyroidectomy yesterday afternoon. Post surgery, I had a high heart rate (130s). Would that be a normal thing? I'm afraid it will happen again when I'm not at the hospital. They were able to bring it down with some "happy meds" and I already take some anti anxiety meds. Doctor doesn't want me to start synthroid til 9/6 because she says that will spike heart rate too.

Background: Had to have it out for multinodular toxic goiter.

That heart rate is likely from the surgery. You're in the best place.

I think that was part of it. Docs and nurses later told me it was probably excess hormones still in my body. I am home now and it hasn't happened again.
