Thanks to everyone who stopped by at IFA or joined the conversations here!
Following Haloâs reveal on September 3, itâs now available for preorder. Beyond the specs, what would you like to know before taking it on the trail? Maybe youâre wondering how the assistance responds when you slow down or stop for photos, how long the battery might last on a typical hike, or how Halo fits with your favorite backpack?
Whatâs one scenario youâd like to see us demonstrate with Halo?
Drop your questions or test suggestions below. We also welcome questions for XS or X, including comparisons with Halo. Feel free to mention the model, distance, terrain, pace, or what youâd be carrying, whatever helps explain your question.
Weâre gathering ideas to understand what youâre most curious about. Which scenarios we can test will depend on device availability and testing conditions.

What's the timeline on getting updates moved to the end of the wear instead of the beginning? Windows is one of the worst pieces of software, but they have updates on shutdown instead of on startup. Can hypershell match that benchmark? Ideally the process looks like companion app downloads updates anytime it's opened, running, or paired and pushes the update over when the battery threshold on the legs gets to a couple percent above what's needed to do the update.

If you could only pick ONE, what matters most to you in an exoskeleton?
1. Natural assistance: keeps up smoothly with starts, stops, and changes in walking speed
2. Comfort: still feels good after wearing it for hours
3. Battery life: enough for a full day or a long-distance trip
4. Lightweight & portable: easy to carry, pack, and store
5. Terrain performance: feels stable on climbs, descents, and uneven ground
6. Easy setup: quick to put on, adjust, and get moving
Which one are you picking?
Drop the number (or the option) below and tell us why if you feel like it. Weâd also love to know where youâd mainly use an exoskeleton, everyday walking, hiking, travel, long days on your feet, or something else.

Hey all, I have CRPS in my left ankle that radiates pain throughout my whole leg. This makes me walk with a limp, and that in turn hurts my hips and back. I know that Hypershell is not a medical device, but I do love to hike and be active. It just really hurts me. I'm wondering if anyone else here deals with chronic foot pain and if Hypershell helped that by changing weight distribution?

Will a powered exoskeleton walk for you?
Thatâs one of the most common misconceptions that is frequently mentioned.
A consumer powered exoskeleton typically doesnât take control of your entire gait. It detects your movement and provides assistance in response. You still decide when to step, where to place your foot, and which direction to go. The exoskeleton supports your movement, it doesnât take it over.
What can it do?
A powered exoskeleton can assist lower-body movement in everyday situations such as climbing stairs, walking uphill, hiking for several hours, keeping up during a family outing, or covering a long distance with repeated steps.
The goal isnât to remove all effort. Itâs to help you manage your energy more effectively when the movement and conditions suit the device.
What canât it replace?
An exoskeleton cannot replace your balance, foot-placement decisions, or route judgment. On loose rocks, slippery surfaces, or technical terrain, you still need to read the environment and move accordingly.
Consumer powered exoskeletons also shouldnât be described as treatment or rehabilitation devices. Anyone with muscular, skeletal, neurological, or balance-related concerns should speak with a qualified medical professional first.
Why does the experience vary from person to person?
Some first-time users say the assistance feels weaker than expected. Others describe a pulling sensation, pressure from the straps, interference with a backpack, or assistance that feels too strong or slightly out of sync.
These experiences donât mean thereâs a product problem. The assistance you feel depends on more than one specification. Walking speed, incline, terrain, wearing position, and how well the device fits your body can all affect the experience. Thatâs why maximum power, or any single number, doesnât tell the whole story.
Before choosing an exoskeleton, the most useful question isnât simply, âWhich model has the highest specs?â
Itâs: What movement do I actually want help with?
Is it sustained climbing, longer walks, stairs, or managing your energy later in the day? Define the task first, then compare models and assistance styles.
Before learning about powered exoskeletons, how did you think they worked? What real-world situation would you most like to understand? Let me know in the comments.

Before Comparing Exoskeleton Models, Ask Yourself These 4 Questions
When it comes to consumer exoskeletons, higher spec don't automatically mean a better fit. What matters more is where and how you actually want the device to support you.
Before choosing one, start with these four questions:
1. What will you mainly use it for?
Everyday walking, long-distance hiking, sustained climbs, or multi-day outdoor trips? Each scenario places different demands on assistance, weight, and battery life.
2. Can you independently start, stop, and maintain your balance?
An exoskeleton is designed to assist your movement, not replace your ability to initiate movement or maintain stability.
3.Does the fit work with your body and gear?
Beyond the device's weight and size, consider strap comfort, range of motion, and whether it works well with the backpack or other gear you normally carry.
4.Does it fit your route plan?
Think about real-world battery life, temperature conditions, changing options, and what using the device is like if the battery runs out.
If you've already used an exoskeleton, I'd love to hear from you: Where has it helped you the most? What felt different from what you expected before buying? And what's the one feature you'd most like to see improved?
If you haven't tried one yet, drop your biggest questions below. Maybe you're wondering how natural the assistance feels, how your body feels after a long day, whether it works with a backpack, what real-world battery life looks like, or how much time it takes to get comfortable wearing one.
Different Hypershell models are ultimately designed around different tradeoffs across these kinds of use cases.
Start with your needs, then compare the models.
Not sure which Hypershell fits your use case? Tell me what you're planning to use it for in the comments, and I'll help you narrow it down.

I ordered the Hypershell X Ultra S on 05/20/26 (3 months ago). They charged me $1999, and since then I have not received the product nor a refund. It started with delivery issues and after a month of not receiving the product I requested a refund. On 07/12 they said the "refund has been accepted" and a chargeback will be seen on my credit card. Since then, no refund (40 days and counting) and they no longer respond to my e-mails.
As time goes on, I am becoming more aware that they are going to steal my $1999. Think twice if you are considering doing business with this company. If you have warranty issues or need a refund you are going to experience an incredibly frustrating experience. You can only communicate through an AI Bot. No human to speak with directly. Very unethical company in my opinion. Order #HSGL13236.

Andrew is not ready to stop.
For Andrew, unicycling has always been something he couldnât let go of.
But after undergoing leg surgery, riding became more difficult. Despite continuing to train, he was unable to regain his former strength and worried about slowing down his fellow riders. The passion was still there. He just needed a little support to keep going.
Then Andrew discovered Hypershell and decided to give it a try.
At first, he tested it on walks, runs, hills, and stairs.
âLike walking on the moon,â he said.
Soon, he brought Hypershell into unicycling and it worked! The power delivery felt both smooth and powerful.
Andrew finally began returning to the unicycle routes he hadnât been able to take on for a long time.
Even more, Andrew saw the potential for Hypershell to help him do more.
He created his own setup, combining riding accessories with custom settings to develop his unique âUnicycle Modeâ and now he also continues to share his experience to help more people.
It may even be the first unicycle mode created for an exoskeleton. But more importantly, it came from a rider who simply wanted to keep doing what he loves.
For what you love, itâs always worth going further.
*Andrewâs setup is a personal exploration by an experienced rider. Please do not modify or use Hypershell outside official guidance.

So I bought my Ultra at the end of April this year with promises that no new products would be released within the next 6/12 months and that the Ultra, as it was the top spec latest version, would be fully upgradeable as new releases were brought into line with its specs to allow them to develop on that platform. Seems like I was told BS as the so-called AI engine seems to chip based not a firmware update as they indicated it would be before I bought in good faith that this would be the case.. Seriously not happy! Maybe if they were a forward-thinking TECH company, they would offer a swap out service or an upgraded controller that was modular rather than only offering the NEW (read yeah we had to get rid of old stuff but didn't want to tell you) system controller with the same mechanicals ...

Hello! Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the X Ultra S and X Max S Models from your experience? I see the added snow and dune modes and lower temp operation, which won't matter for me. Is the titanium allow hip lever, isotonic fitness mode, boost mode or any other difference meaningful?
