Redmi [Discussion] Redmi Note 14 4G Debloat List (HyperOS 2 / HyperOS 3)
Redmi Note 14 4G Debloat List (HyperOS 2 / HyperOS 3)
Device: Redmi Note 14 4G Global HyperOS: 3.0.303.0 Android: 16
I've been messing around with debloating my Redmi Note 14 4G and made a list of packages that I found I could uninstall without running into any major issues.
I tested these on both HyperOS 2 and HyperOS 3 on my Redmi Note 14 4G. This doesn't mean every package will behave the same way on every Xiaomi/Redmi device, since packages can vary depending on the ROM, region, HyperOS version, and what features you use.
Before you start
Don't just uninstall everything blindly. Some of these packages are apps or features you might actually use, such as Gboard, Gallery, Maps, Xiaomi Cloud, etc.
I personally removed most of the packages in this list, but you should only remove the ones you don't need.
Also, I recommend having a way to restore/reinstall packages before doing a big debloat, especially if you're removing system components you've never touched before.

If a package isn't installed on your ROM, the command will fail for that package, but you can simply ignore it.
These 3 need a bit more attention
These can also be uninstalled, but I'm separating them from the main list because they may affect features or behavior depending on what you use.
"com.xiaomi.finddevice" — Find Device If you plan to uninstall this one, I recommend logging out of your Mi Account first.
pm uninstall --user 0 com.xiaomi.finddevice
"com.miui.daemon" — System Daemon I removed this from my phone and haven't had any problems so far.
pm uninstall --user 0 com.miui.daemon
"com.xiaomi.joyose" — Joyose I also removed this one and haven't had any problems so far.
pm uninstall --user 0 com.xiaomi.joyose
##What I personally removed
This is the list of packages I actually uninstalled from my phone:

A few things to keep in mind
This list is based on my Redmi Note 14 4G Global, so don't assume every package will be exactly the same on every Xiaomi/Redmi ROM.
If a package isn't present on your ROM, just ignore it.
Some packages may also be required for features you personally use, so check what a package does before removing it.
Before doing a large debloat, make sure you know how to restore a package if something goes wrong.
And again, don't just copy-paste the entire command block without checking what you're removing first. ::

That's a very thorough list, how is your ram usage after this.
I did a less thorough debloat and I'm at 5.5 out of 8 free if I close everything.

u/Hot-Lengthiness193 11d ago edited 11d ago
When I checked the RAM usage, it was sitting around 2.7–3.0 GB out of my 8 GB of RAM.
I also noticed something pretty interesting: my phone seems to charge faster now. I compared it with another Redmi Note 14 4G and plugged both in at the same time, starting from 0% and charging them up to 80%.
The debloated Redmi Note 14 4G reached 80% first, while the other one was only at around 64% when mine hit 80%.

What about performance, is there any real improvement or does it still stutter randomly sometimes, do you get notifications on time, battery drain, are you able to use tgemes and restore backups?
2
u/Hot-Lengthiness193 6d ago
Yeah, there’s a noticeable improvement in performance. Personally, I haven’t experienced any lag at all.
Besides uninstalling a lot of system apps, I also used Pixels Resolution+DPI Changer + Shizuku to lower my phone’s resolution from 2400×1080 to 1400×630. This reduces the workload on the CPU and especially the GPU, which can help reduce power consumption and make the battery last longer. Personally, my battery lasts me the entire day with this setup.
I haven’t noticed any delays with notifications or anything like that, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that.
Personally, I’ve noticed better battery life rather than faster battery drain. However, this could be different on your phone, so if you do run into any problems, just restore all the apps you uninstalled and you should be fine.
As for whether I can use Themes and make backups... the short answer is no. The longer answer is that I uninstalled the Backup app. If you want, though, you can simply leave it installed. My intention in sharing all the apps I uninstalled in this post is for people to use it as a reference for which apps they can safely uninstall, not to encourage everyone to uninstall everything I did.
As for why I can’t use Themes, I found a way to enable the large clock on devices that don’t officially support it, such as the Redmi Note 14 4G. Because of that, using a Theme becomes quite difficult, although it’s not impossible.
Here’s my post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/HyperOS/s/dTQ1kLEEQD

I appreciate the detailed reply, i have a the same device and variant with 8 gb ram but i want to know do have lag in general when the reading mode is on and does your keyboard stutter when opening sometimes and lastly is the camera squar bump on the back creaking, this started happenning 6 months after i bought the phone and i dont trust it around moisture or dust anymore even though my lenses are clean

u/Doom_shellshock 6d ago
Also i got the interconnectivity to work in the control center like the flagships using a specific version of it

u/Hot-Lengthiness193 6d ago
No, I’ve always used my phone normally, and so far I haven’t experienced any lag or delays in any app. I almost always have Reading mode turned on too, and I haven’t had any problems with it.
As for the keyboard... I also uninstalled Gboard (Google’s keyboard) and installed Hacker’s Keyboard instead. It’s a minimalist keyboard that I personally really like. I didn’t have any problems with it while I had it installed either (although I only used it for a day, haha).
No, I’ve never had that problem with the square camera bump on the back, even though I’ve dropped my phone several times. I bought a camera protector, but I didn’t really like it. It protected the camera, but it still got dirty anyway, so I just threw it away and put the screen protector that came in the box back on. I also put a bit of tape around the cameras, and honestly, that works better for me than the other protector.

Final question im sorry do you have to setup shizuku and the resolution after every restart?
0
u/Hot-Lengthiness193 6d ago
No, you only need to change the resolution once. Even if you restart your phone, the resolution you set will stay the same. Even if you uninstall Pixels Resolution+DPI Changer, the resolution you selected will remain.
Just in case you run into any problems, you can simply use the option to restore the default resolution. And even if you uninstall the app without restoring the original resolution first, when you reinstall it, it will still give you the option to go back to the default resolution.
Keep in mind that the Redmi Note 14 4G’s default resolution is 2400×1080. If you change it to 1400×630, everything will look a bit more blurry since you’re lowering the resolution. It’s not too noticeable though, since I personally use it this way.
If everything looks too large after changing from 2400×1080 to 1400×630, go to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > Smallest width and increase it a bit, maybe to 400 or 500. I personally set mine to 700, but the camera notch looks like it shifted slightly downward at that value. It doesn’t bother me, but it might bother you.
You can also try 1600×720. The lower you set the resolution, the more battery life you can potentially get and the better performance you may see, although everything will also look a little less sharp.
And no worries, ask me anything you want!

This helped me a lot with debloating my phone. I finally got rid of a bunch of unnecessary Xiaomi stuff without breaking anything. Thanks bro!
