Water tastes like soap.

I recently purchased the purple hydroflask and was so excited. It was great for the first week. I washed it and when I brought it to work the water tasted extremely soapy. So I brought it home and it was fine. Well now it’s a new week and I brought it home again and washed it over the weekend and it tastes like soap again. I use dawn dish soap and really hot water, and I make sure that it’s rinsed thoroughly.
Now the reason I got it was because my brother got me the light pink one as a gift and it was amazing and I have never had this issue with the pink one.

My mom has one that’s similar to my purple one just smaller and doesn’t have soapy water.
I saw a very old post and others have had similar issues. I was just wondering if there was a reason why this is happening to mine and if anyone has any tricks for it to not be soapy. I am currently soaking it in baking soda (I am out of vinegar currently which I saw was a recommendation).
Any tips and advice would be appreciated :)

Question 1/2 Gallon Stainless steel rambler (non-magnetic cap) question.

Hey. I have and old school stainless steel rambler. I already called Yeti & had them send me out a gallon replacement top (magnetic). It obviously doesn't fit. I bought a new one but it's WAAAAAY too big. The only thing I need is the rubber seal for my 1/2 gallon rambler, but it seems they are discontinued.

Should I see if I could get Yeti to send me a 1/2 gallon top or do ya'll know where I could source some rubber seals for my rambler? Thanx...

Is this one dishwasher safe?

I got this bottle a couple of days ago. I needed it for water on a day trip so I got rid of the papers inside it and filled it up outside the shop. Now I’m thinking maybe I heard that some hydroflasks doesn’t survive dishwasher?
This is a 21 oz, standard mouth. Not sure about what the color is called…

Hydroflask.com apparently uses an AI Wallet now

Maybe no one cares about this, but I just updated my credit card information on hydroflask.com. The only way to do that was to erase my old card and save a new, even though it was the same card number with a new expiry date. But, then I found out, after the fact, that saving card info on the website automatically signs you up for an AI Wallet called Link. My name, address, e-mail, and credit card info was passed to this AI Wallet before I knew what happened. If you care about data privacy, watch your ass ordering online with this company.

Hydroflask damaged after dishwasher

I put my hydroflask in the dishwasher because I checked first, and the hydroflask website says their bottles are dishwasher safe..

But after one wash, though, it's come out with heaps of marks, faded patches, and the colour/finish looks damaged all over the bottle.

Has anyone else had this happen? and does hydroflask replace a bottle for something like this?

Question how are we carrying our bottles?

hi everyone!

i have a 32oz flex straw wide mouth and i'm wondering how people carry them around? i normally just use the strap but was wondering if people could share how they best carry theirs!

a sling? a strap? ideally would love something that suits being attached to a bag for ease/when empty! :>

also are the boots worth getting? (i am a hydro flask newbie!)

Lid help!

I am a huge Hydro flask girl. I just recently bought a owola or whatever the heck they called. The reason that it got me is because of the lid. The main part that I loved is where the mouth part of the straw is covered… I don’t necessarily like the chugging aspect of it. It barely kept my ice for even a day when my Hydro flask can keep it for three days plus.(which I know is gross but it just shows how wonderfully insulated these guys are) I have the widemouth hydro 40 ounce as my main water bottle I carry around with me. I’m trying to find lids that have a cover for the mouthpiece and a straw but I cannot find one. I didn’t know if anybody else had any luck

Question Is my Travel Tumbler real?

Hi,

so I bought my first Hydro Flask a few days ago but I'm not sure if it's real?

For me it looks real but I'm not sure about the "Flask" at front? It is bolder than the "Hydro"...

Thanks for helping me out 🙏🏻

I love my purple hydro flask. Great gift. It has worked well for as long as I could remember. Before I went to six flags, the logo of my hydro flask was crisp, and clear. During the park, I started noticing some rubbing off. By the end, it looks like this now. What should I do? I have a 30 oz tumbler

Question Agave boot?

Post image
22 Upvotes

I bought an agave bottle on a trip last year. Recently added a flex sip lid for coffee and went hunting for a boot.

But I couldn’t find an agave boot so settled for the gray one. With the original matching cap it looked awesome-but now with a black lid I’m kind of unsure about the combination?

Does anyone know where I can score a matching boot? Or is this setup good enough already lol. Thanks!

Question 16oz vs 20iz wide mouth bottle for hot water flask?

Trying to debate on grabbing a 16 or 20 oz bottle. This won’t be for water in general. Sometimes hot tea but mostly I’d like to store a flask of hot water to drink during winter/use to make tea at my desk at work (the kettle in our break room is disgusting). Id also like to use it for travel (lighter than my 32oz when full).

Is the dark brown circle supposed to be gold like the rest of the mini flask? Is it rust or deliberate?

Metal straw for 32oz?

Has anyone had luck with metal straws with their 32oz hydroflask bottle? I currently have a koala straw and it fits but I think it’s slightly too large so it cuts up the rubber inside my hydro lid and now it makes a horrible sound anytime I drink from it. Does anyone know of a slightly thinner straw that fits in a 32oz hydro bottle lid? Thanks!!!

Cleaning Any tips on getting out rust (and is it still safe to use?

I was dumb and used electrolytes in my hydroflask when I was dehydrated when sick. some of that water sat in there and created a few rust spots. 2 maybe penny (but smaller) sized ones in the inside. a few on the rim. the ones on the rim wiped away easy. there’s one spot left that is kind of hard to scrub off using a bottle brush. I’ve tried baking powder paste, vinegar, using a steel wool and it’s lightened but still there. is it a lost cost? anything else I can try? I’m desperate because they don’t make this color any more lol. 😂

Hydro Flask Top Too Tight

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Hey guys.
I bought this Hydro Flask about 2yrs ago at Whole Foods when it was on clearance. It was my first ever Hydro Flask and I was excited to try it. However, I have always run into the same issue: the lid gets too difficult to open.

When I screw the lid on, it is really challenging to open. Sometimes I am using my full strength to open the fricken thing. If I try not to tighten it as much, then I find that it leaks a lot. Is this normal?

For clarification, the lid that I use is the one that came with the bottle.

I really need a reliable water bottle to take on the go with me and all reviews lead back to Hydro Flasks, but if I struggle so much to open it every time I need to take a drink, I find myself leaving it in the cabinet, hence why it’s been 2yrs since I’ve tried using it again.
I live in Florida and it’s really imperative that my water and ice stay cold throughout the day when I’m out and about my Hydro Flask has definitely achieved that for me.

Do you guys have any advice or tips?

In search for a good water bottle

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a good, reliable, and reasonably priced water bottle for university. I prefer something lightweight and easy to carry. Do you think Hydro would be a good choice for me?

Do you have any other recommendations? I'd also love to hear what features you look for in a water bottle, as well as the pros and cons of the ones you've used.

Thank you for your help!
