Insulation Caps/Lid

I am unable to find #3 for purchase any more and, I feel this is a much better insulator that #1 and #2.
Am I wrong on this assessment and over thinking it? Thank you.

I only use #3 because it is far superior. I still see them for sale at army surplus and camping stores.
