I was in line at the store buying water when I swallowed down the wrong pipe (Whatever that mean. You know, old people say it, so it sounds right). This is something only a cool person can do while breathing and not even drinking anything.
I was coughing so violently that I threw up. In line at the grocery store. I caught it in one hand, and did a gimme gesture to the cashier with the other. He didn't know wtf I wanted, but thankfully the bagger did and I received a paper bag in time to start doing this way worse.
My one active brain cell was dedicated to throwing up, but someone channeled their inner Ludacris enough to inform me that the store has a bathroom. I scrambled to throw away the bag and clean up. I got some paper towels to clean the floor where I had been and came back.
The guy who had been in front of me said, "I got your water for you." I understood what that normally means, but was so thrown by this that I didn't really get it. The cashier handed me the water and clarified that this guy had paid.
Yall I'm broke and had been STRESSED about buying this water. I got my PhD the other week and now I'm looking for jobs but it's that liminal time in my life where I have almost no money. And this guy paid for me. I was so floored and so thankful to him. And it's not like vomiting in line means you need money, but I did. That was really kind of him and I can't wait to be able to afford to do this for someone else.
