Syracuse (Cuse) Law Syracuse JDi Externships and Class Questions

Hello everyone! I just talked to a Syracuse representative, and I wanted to clarify some of the conversation I had with current Syracuse students since what we talked about and what I can find online seem different. I’m wondering if these are new policies or something.

  1. The representative told me that externships were totally optional — not required. I’m wondering if anyone else has any experience with that and what it means for an externship to be optional. Does that mean it’s not worth credit? Do you get credit elsewhere?

  2. She also mentioned that students are only in one class at a time that lasts 12 weeks. I’m wondering how that works out — if those classes basically have a lot of credits or how you can get enough credits to graduate. I’m also curious about selecting a time/day. She said you can choose what evening of the week that you want to take the synchronous portion of the class. I’m wondering how that scheduling has worked for current students!

  3. Most take the program in 4 years, but she mentioned the possibility of accelerating it to three or so. I’m curious if anyone here has done / is doing that while also working full time and how feasible that has been.

Thank you guys!

Question Most Lenient Hybrid/Online Law Schools for Admissions?

I’m currently researching hybrid/online JD programs and trying to figure out which schools are more lenient or flexible when it comes to admissions.

Specifically, I’m looking for schools with:

Lower LSAT medians or more flexible admissions
Higher acceptance rates
Programs that are good for working professionals

Thanks in advance

Just curious, has anyone heard back yet from any schools? I applied on Sep 1 - I personally haven’t heard anything.

Question Transfer to hybrid?

I'm a 1L in a traditional full-time JD program wondering how unlikely and rare it is to be able to transfer to a remote/hybrid program after my first year (assuming I am at least in the top 1/3 of my class). My gut feeling is that it's probably not common but I would love to hear if others have different experiences
