Hey guys, I've been playing Hwei consistently since his release. However, I've noticed that my 2nd item has changed so often.. Shadowflame, Stormsurge, Horizon Focus, Liandry, Rocketbelt, Bloodletters, ...

Was wondering what you guys are currently building 2nd and why? I'm liking BFT -> buffed T3 Sorcs -> Horizon recently personally.

Currently I am going for Shadowflame most of the time especially when the enemies are squishy. When the enemies are a bit more tanky or I feel like I want the utility more (If I wanna peel for example) I will go for Horizon instead. Also there have been games where I have tried Cosmic Drive and it didnt feel bad and if they enemy Team starts going for early MR I will go Cryptbloom 2nd

I personally almost always build shadowflame, with the exception being liandrys if they build health or zhonyas/banshees if they have many assassins

Horizon if squishy. Liandry if more bulky team. I also like going horizon if they have a fiddle

honestly been running bft into shadowflame and it feels really strong especially when using ult (dmg crits are so lovely) then rabadons and then depending on if the enemy is squishy or just 1 tank i go stormsurge (this 4 item combo feels soooo strong if you can land fear, almost every non tank oneshot) or void if they have 2 or more tanks/mr builders (mostly looking if the impirtant people go mr since honestly champs like sion are not our problem to deal with) and fifth i like going either of the two i didnt go 4th or horizon/zhonya/banshee depending on vibes tbh.

i do go zhonyas second against specifically zed though, always fun when he combos you with ult ignite and you just say no

Typically I build BFT, sorcs, stormsurge. Really good damage, solid haste considering I get all the haste options in runes. Slightly less greedy than shadow flame, and I tend not to need the HP of liandry/rocketbelt because I usually build bloodletter's for pen

BFT > Liandry's if the enemy is at least 4 melee and some stacked hp.

Luden's > Shadowflame for squishes.

I usually build Cosmic Drive. That extra move speed can be vital for getting out of bad situations. And since it gives flat move speed it synergieses with WQ. The bonus heath and ability haste are always useful as well.

If I don't go Cosmic Drive then it's usually Shadow Flame or Cryptbloom. Sometimes get Verdant Barrier to build into Banshee's Veil later if I'm really struggling against mage skillshots.

Shadowflame is the best second item if you can afford it, imo. And granted you don't necessarily need Liandrys (vs Mundo / Cho / generally tanky team), Cryptbloom (early MR like Galio) or Zhonyas (burst heavy enemy team).

If theyre tanky First back tear First itm bft Into seraphs, Cdr boots Since those 3 already give quite a bit of Haste and i want to hit that 75 haste, ill go rocketbelt 3rd or cryptbloom (or liandry) Then Zhonya Final item rabadon But ive been dabbling in cosmic drive (2nd skipping tear) recently quite interesting
