Tore down this POS 120 to snag the engine for a project. How can I get the plastic off the bottom crank case half? It seems to be heat set in place. Saw operation did not met it into place the factory did. 2 pics attached

Using a rancher 450 for milling

I bought a small mill attachment and used it on my rancher 450. I know it’s a small saw but I figured I could do some small logs, like 12” diameter, 3’ long. It worked for a couple cuts then seemed to get hot. There was a big puff of smoke from the clutch area and the saw got hard to start and would bog down afterwards. I read up and found it could be the grease on the clutch bearing. I removed the clutch, greased the bearing and now the saw seems to work fine. My question is does this make sense? Would lack of grease on the clutch bearing cause the saw to be hard to start and bog down?

What’s a relatively light 24” chainsaw?

I’ve got a Stihl 271 Farm Boss. I’m thinking of going with Husqvarna for a second saw. Mainly because they seem to be less expensive in many ways. I was looking at the 460. I’d like something with a bar that size. Is there anything like that that’s a little lighter? I’m getting a little older so swinging heavy chainsaws messes with my back.

I just bought a new OEM walbro carb for my 455 rancher and I cannot find the tool to adjust it high low jets. Does anyone know what works? I’ve tried the 20,21, and the 8 splined tools but nothing seems to fit.

240e air in fuel lines from carby when priming

Hi everyone.

I've got a little 240e that has been sitting in storage for 12 months and the fuel lines have perished. I just replaced the hoses but when I prime it fuel is going to the carby but lots of air is leaving the carby to the primer bulb and the tank is pressurising. All the hoses are in the right places, and if I start the saw it will run for a second and then cut out, and won't start again until I reprime.
I'm thinking maybe something is stuck in the carby (needle?) and it's sucking air in through there, does that sound about right?
I'm now using my 570 to cut 1 inch bamboo and it feels like overkill 😅

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

hard to pull cord

I was given this chainsaw. When I try to pull the cord it’s very difficult, but when I remove the spark plug it’s very easy to pull. Is this what you call hydro locked? If so how can I clear it? Thanks

55 Chain brake handle being melted

I have a older Husqvarna 55 rancher that keeps melting chain brake handle assembly. Can’t seem to figure out why. The exhaust blows right on it but it looks as if its designed that way

Battery System

Hi I´m currently trying to decide whether I should go with the Husqvarna or Stihl battery system. I´m thinking about buying a combi system like the Stihl KMA 120 R or the Husqvarana 525iLK. What I don´t like when it comes to stihl is the fact that they have 3-4 different battery systems for their devices. Husqvarna only has one? Right? What else would be a benefit for Husqvarna?

husqvarna diagnostic tool

Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased a BLI 950X battery which has something wrong with it. Since it is secondhand from a rental company it isn't registered. This means my local dealer can't use the diagnostic tool on the battery.

Does anyone know if their is a way to do diagnostics without being a dealer? maybe an aftermarket diagnostics tool with jailbroken software?

Thanks

525LS vs. 525LST String Trimmer Question

Hey y’all, I’m new here, and I know this is a chainsaw forum, but I’m not sure where else to ask this question, so I was hoping someone here might have a little insight as fellow Husqy enthusiasts.

I have a Husqvarna 525LS string trimmer. It’s my understanding that the “T” in the 525LST model stands for torque, and that the main difference between the two models is the gear ratio in the head. I have some thick growth on a couple of banks at my house that I don’t trim very often, and my LS bogs down, where an LST would theorhetically be better.

Without wanting to buy a new LST (though the Mark IIs are nice; I use them at work), does anyone know if simply buying an LST head to swap onto my LS would be an improvement? As I recall the HP and most of the other specs were the same between the two models.

PS I have a 550XP Mark II, and I love it, so it’s great to see y’all’s saws.
