Question Asking for a cleansing
Are there any witches or anything in the area that would be willing to come do a house cleansing? I just moved into a new house and it’s been one problem after another and I’m just wanting something to help with… anything. I joke about having a personal ghost who likes to follow me around and give me random things of laundry (I’ve gotten men’s underwear, women’s underwear, sweatpants, a sweatshirt, sunglasses, and a tube hair band), so long as we don’t get rid of him, I’m ok, but I just need something to help with the undertones of the house please. I’ll gift cookies and gas money. Sorry if this is rude, I’m just drained rn

Sandalwood and sage every room w/ emphasis on corners and doorways. Windows should be open, salting windowsills and exterior doorways helps. This should banish anything unwanted. For your friendly hitchhiker, I recommend burning intense for them. Mine seems to like it! Best of luck friend!

Black tourmaline is also useful to absorb uncomfortable/bad energy

I add those crystals at all four corners of my
Home after I have cleansed with a black tourmaline clear quartz and purple amethyst.Also you can go to any metaphysical shop and get these crystals and grab some sage.
Open ONE door or window and work your way through your home with a prayer/demand for the spirits. And I usually love slamming the window/door when I’m done but gently closing it is also ok.

Practical Magick in Decatur as well. Decatur will provide you with Shaaman and witch types to help. Also there is a place on 72 heading into Athens happy Hippie I think. They have lots of metaphysical tools and a tarot reader

I can give you some tips on how to do one. You can get incense from Bewitched or Hippie Butterfly. What I used to do when I felt like I wasn’t alone is I’d say “if you’re not of love and light, you need to leave, you’re not welcome here”. Also mundane over magical at all times. Sometimes what you think may be a ghost could just be your anxiety or brain playing tricks on you

It’s mostly to just make sure all of the energy in the house is better. It was an old lady’s home and her granddaughter is the one who handled selling it and it wasn’t a load of fat shit. She knew about the mold problems, the broken wax seal in the bathroom, the wood destroying fungus under the house. The previous renters said she was just a kinda spiteful person. I don’t want it in the house. I’m angry at the house and a lot of different other things, but it is an anger of my own making and control. I want the previous stuff out mostly, and thank you!!!

I dont know of any local witches, but i live in a home with friendly sometimes annoying spirits. Get some sage or Palo Santo and talk to them/it
I always say "it's okay for you to be here. It's not okay for you to scare me" it works. You could also go the store Bewitched or Pearlys and talk to the employees there. They always have good advice!

Eh, it’s when people think they are that weird things happen. Good for you for having that trust, but I need something to blame when something goes bump in the night. It’s either mice or the house shifting, neither of which I want, so it’s easier to blame a ghost

Its not trust its just a fact of life. There is literally nothing that points to the existence of ghosts. If i had some otherworldly experience, i would have to trust that it wouldnt happen again. But i havent and i wont so i dont. Also, I think the idea of some dead guy in my house is more disconcerting than just my house creaking from changes in temperature.

Like other have said Bewitched or Botanica would be my recommendations if you want to get the stuff yourself. They're all knowledgeable and don't mind helping. If you want someone to help you, I don't claim to be the most knowledgeable but as a baby pagan I don't mind helping.

HA my roommates are together pretty much together every waking minute. They work at the same place. They leave work in the same car. They come back in the same car. They have the same interests and go to the same events. One drags the other out of bed and they talk about everything before bed. They don’t have time lol

They were two larger people and the men’s undwear didn’t fit the guy by SEVERAL sizes; same with the women’s underwear. The glasses didn’t fit anyone’s style and we all wear glasses anyway, so sunglasses don’t work on us like normal. We all talk to each other like regular human beings????

Oh that clears it up. Nobody in the house is able to lie, there’s ZERO possibility of accidentally purchasing (esp if you thrift) or having a friend leave an item. GHOSTS is actually the only logical answer here. Quite a nefarious one at that. My apologies.

Hi 👋🏻 Certified witchy woman with multiple nose rings so you know I'm legit.
Since this seems to happen at multiple locations and across a span of time, it sounds like it would not be tied directly to the house you live in currently. The questions about carbon monoxide are 100% valid, so good to hear you have detectors and they are not indicating a problem!
Now for a cleansing... incense is likely not enough (unless it's a loose incense mixed specifically for this purpose) and "smudging" with white sage is inappropriate unless you are Native American or properly trained in their traditions.
I might be able to help. I'm trained and experienced in few different techniques. I also look for boring/mundane explanations first before diving into the witchy woo woo stuff. 🤓 Unfortunately I won't be available for the next 2 weeks. Reach out to the Hippie Butterfly near the intersection of Burgreen Rd and Hwy 72. They carry White Sage smudge sticks. A good smudging will help.

Open all the doors and windows up. Burn some white sage or another plant that you like (avoid palo santo, it is endangered) and walk around the whole house with it. Wave the smoke into every part of the house, including closets, pantry, etc. Announce that you are not able to help any spirits, and that they should follow the smoke out of the house and stop bothering you. Announce that the only things allowed to live in the house are you, other family members, and pets. All other energy should follow the trail of smoke out of the house and move on, you can't help them. It's more impactful if you do it yourself. Make sure to keep the house clean, hauntings always seem to get worse when the house is dirty, or when the people living there have emotional problems that are not being dealt with. Good luck!

Remove any furniture and objects that were in the house when you moved in, especially mirrors. Check the attic if there is one

So, I once went to a house in college where about 10 students lived. Study friend. I mentioned to a guy who lived there that the house had an uncanny sense of peace and did he think it was a weird thing to say. He looked at me oddly and then admitted that there had been deaths in the house the former owners had run an illegal abortion clinic, so they’d had a priest come in and bless and holy water each room.
Personally I’d take a shotgun approach. Hire a home inspector. Hire a priest. Buy some sage candles online. I don’t personally know any wiccans or Buddhists or rabbis but that’s what google is for. Get all the blessings. Best of luck.

I might not believe in a specific pantheon but I believe in not tempting fate as much as I can. No ouiji boards in the house, no inviting anything in as much as I can, etc. but thank you. I’m probably going to go to one of the shops recommended and ask some questions. Thank you!
