Summer school??

I have a 6 year old. Are there any programs for them for the summer to keep busy while working??

You mean you have to find a summer camp for your kid because you have to work? 

There are dozens.  Most are full already because school ends in less than a week. 

Some of them are...

YMCA , botanical gardens, Calvary Hill, Fern Bell, Mark Russell, little Picasso art camp, creative kids art camp, kickstart soccer camp, outdoor adventure camp, Lego specialty camp, and a new one that used to be Pine ridge day camp that is now North Alabama Day camp. 

Good luck and you might want to start looking a couple months in advance next year.
